I used to like him believe it or not. And was initially ok when he took the leadership. But the way he behaved since to the Party and its values showed more of the person he is. I even supported his Republic stance back in the day.

I don't hate Peter Dutton, but I am hardly right wing, I am in the centre but probably left leaning on issues re people disadvantaged in life. Mighty Rooster is the poster I most certainly find myself having very similar values to my own.

I probably wouldn't vote for Petter Dutton, but I think he is a very decent human being......I may not agree with a lot of his positions on things but he is a man of principle and I respect that.

Snap. Hi Brawler, I pretty much just posted the same thing. Yes, I disagree with Dutton’s priorities. It’s not him personally. I just use poor language when I say I hate the individual and yes thats’s wrong. It’s not really what I mean. I disagree with their priorities as a politician. I want to see more empathy and support for the disadvantaged. Not, oh we need to slash in areas where people genuinely need help while at the same time helping out big corporations and businesses.

* Vasco. Immigration is a big issue in Europe and the USA. The question is, should it be? The far right is making hay with it and we are seeing bigots, racists, and fascists becoming increasingly popular. Some people are talking about the end of Democracy but most ordinary people are racist and they prefer their prejudices and fears to their best economic interests. The Right has always relied on that emotional response to gain influence. Our Tory lot do the divisive thing at every opportunity - black gangs, Arab nurses, Lebs in general, bludging Abos. We see the same thing in the US with the Wall. Anti Immigration is a winner.

As a swinging voter, I thought you might like some of their values, and dislike others..
