the a.l.p. has had members who were communists (those members lied about their affiliation to circumvent a.l.p. rules) but it was never a communist party. yes, they had a platform which for a long time had socialist objectives, but they've always believed in a mixed economy (same as the libs). since whitlam they're less of a working class party. they're still connected to the union movement but they've broadened the base, reflecting changes in australia, in particular the increase in education levels.

Yep Caz the well informed and well educated from the working class vote progressive. To them, the other lot are what they are - reps of capital and petty bourgeois prejudice.
I get the feeling Albo is roaring back - Hero of the Storm, no harbor-side parties for this little bloke, he's in there balls 'n all. He's Mr. Everywhere. I hear that a lot of the Libs are spending time looking for the best share options right now - they're out of Insurance companies and into building materials, rubber dinghies and earth movers - there's good bucks if you've got the good oil at the right time. "Straya, land of opportunity.
Exactly Randy. Sal's definition is also misleading, he must have got it from some loopy Libertarian site. All that inclusion of progressive objectives not financed by minuscule government but by private philanthropy - give us a break. No the real Libertarianism is postulated in Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" - it's an every man for himself philosophy, based on a completely free market, no rules just rampant individualism. It's a fringe right wing obsession with absolutely zero appeal electorally. It is regressive except for the rich and ruthless. No doubt Gina was one of the 656.
What I have learnt from this thread about my views, perspectives and character:
I want to get the most stickers and brownie points for displaying the nicest values.
I really do not put my country first and it’s most disgraceful.
I waffle and am too soft.
I like watermelons.
I have no strength in my convictions.
All men are created equal and those who are not are well looked after anyway.
Women don’t like men with bald heads. Strange as I’m married to one since he’s hairline started receding some time ago.
I’m biased towards the views of one party. This is a telltale sign as apparently it’s a trait only prevalent amongst lefty, libra-terror-ites.
Whenever, I attempt to swing the other way to see the light, it’s because I’ve been indoctrinated by the Murdoch / MSM propaganda machine or that of my parents.
I occasionally forget to switch on my brain and end up being herded around like a lost sheep.
But when I do switch the brain on, I spend too much time awake trying to be popular, trendy and cool.
I think that sums it up. After much soul searching I think I need to make an appointment with a counsellor.
***I forgot to add, I have multiple alt accounts and I make sure each one has a different political persuasion so I cannot be detected easily. Ok that last one was a joke.
The lefties love a good argument . Its amusing how they can tie themselves in knots as the identity (dare I say woke) politics values often collide. They seem to have an almost self-flagellistic fulfilling prophecy at play.

Beauty im back to being a leftie!! Self flagellation? I'm not the one deciding where I fall on the political spectrum—I’m just sitting back and letting others do it for me.
Oi MAGA fans... with the WA election result do you see a heap of lefties over-celebrating the result on here and taunting you about it as if they're now alpha males as a result?
Nup. Why? Something about us not being putrid/toxic. It's an election, not a footy game.
Life is to short to go around fighting about which candidate has won an election. Particularly when all I'd be doing in this case is stating the obvious.
