  • Darryl Cotton RIP

Darryl Cotton has passed away from liver cancer . Got very upset when i read this, didn't even realise he was ill.

Probably remembered best from Zoot with Rick Springfield and Beeb Bertles and then later when he hosted the Saturday morning kids show with Marty the Monster.RIP Darryl.

I thought of you when I heard this Horrie! All our favourites are leaving us..We used to call him Daryl Flannelette. Lovely person and a nice voice too. I didn't know he was sick either.

Yeah you usually hear about a performer (current or older) who is ill, but in this case I think it all happenned very quickly. Apparently only diagnosed in May, gone 2 months later.
Very sad, the old Countdown alumni ranks are thinning

All our favorites who we grew up with are all starting to leave us . 62 was far too young to die, what was sadder as Hawkeye said, he was only diagnosed in May. I was going to see a Cotton Keyes and Morris gig last year but had something else on at the same time, i will never get a chance to see them together again now

Yes so true and look how close we came to losing the head honcho from Countdown last year.

He is responsible for one of the finest moments on Australian television. And something that shaped my young teenage years.

You beat me to it! That was my favourite of Darryl's. What a beautiful man he was. Life is far too short and I can't believe how quickly he passed.

Count me in then! When I move home, we'll have to go and see some bands for sure.

                            Lifes too short?

                            Too young to die?

You's are carrying on as if he was 18.

                            62 is a decent run.
