  • Welcome Back Kotter's Arnold Horshack dies

Another character from our youth has passed away.
Ron Palillo, who was better known to my generation as Arnold Horshack has died of a heart attack.
Not the greatest actor, can't ever recall seeing him in anything after Welcome Back Kotter other than maybe a special guest role in an episode of the Love Boat ?

But created one of the most uniquely remembered (and imitated) characters on television.
Who of us hasn't at some stage tried to do the Horshack laugh ?

This coming only about 6 months after Robert Hegyes (Juan Epstein) died. Not a great period for those fans of the show.

Damn, the character whom I based my entire school persona on is gone. I feel like Ralph Macchio losing Mr. Miyagi.

School teachers would've hated Horshack, can just imagine after the show went to air how many kids in classes started putting up their hands going Ooooh Ooooh Ooooh !

And the "Oh!!...Oh Oh Oh!!!" hand in the air desperately trying to catch the teacher's attention.

I can only remember Horshack playing two roles, Kotter as a regular, and a guest appearance on the Love Boat.

Juan Epstein's mother will need to write two abscentee notes now.

              RIP

That is so true, everything from our youth is slowly but surely disappearing. Was shattered when Bob Welch and Robin Gibb past away recently, now someone else that i can connect with from my youth is gone.

Here is a list of what Ron Pallilo did from IMDB

A few weeks back Mary Tamm left us too, she was the first Romana on Doctor Who and the first woman i dreamt of as a youngster.
