Has to be SLADE though sold more records than any other artist in Britain in the 1970's- Noddy Holders Magic Mirror Hat perhaps - Bought the hat without the Mirrors from some bloke at a London market called Freddy who told Noddy I am going to be a pop star like you one day - I think Noddy told him f off or something - that Freddy was later known as Freddy Mercury of Queen.
