  • iPad converter for movies

Got meself one of dem fancy iPads and was wondering if anyone can advise on a good video converter? I downloaded Any Video Converter and when I put a DVD in my pc and try to convert it, when selecting the file it says that the audio cannot be found or selected or some chit....

So anyone got any suggestions on the best converter preferably free?

Also looking for an app that might allow me to add some text Nader an image so that I know what it actually is. Just got back from a trip to Europe and would like to make a note of the images I have for when I lose my memory....which won't be long...

    Ta,

    John

I have always used convertXtodvd4. It's free as well. I d/l a lot of movies from the net and this program deals with all files. Unlike the standard converters which struggle with some audio file types.

Thanks mate. Looked a bit more into it and seems that the program does not convert DVDs. I need a decrypter program for that.

Updated my utorrent tonight and it installed a bloody win zip scanner program. Bastards. Don't think it is a problem but it stuffed up all my browser settings.

Sorry I misunderstood. I use Isohunt to search, and like you, Utorrent to download. Then I convert from my hard drive to DVD using convertXtoDVD

Do you have a Mac or PC? If you have a Mac, then get a program called Mpeg streamclip. It converted an AC/Dc live concert that was a DVD file to avi. It's a bit of a process and I haven't done it for a long time but within the VTS folder find the VOB file(there could be a few) which has the video and audio. Drag that in the Mpeg Streamclip and convert it to whatever file type you want. Let me know if it helps.

Thanks ROC. I have a PC but will look into the program. Might be better off sticking my hand in my pocket and buying one.

You can always go to YouTube and am sure some geek out there has made a video about this problems. I will tell you another program I use for converting to my, then Itouch. It's called Squint. Read about it. It worked well for me.

No point in buying something when it's for free and if you go to You Tube, you'll probably see someone showing you how to use these programs. I deal a lot with video productions so i normally work my way around them until I find how they work which is not hard.
              Cheers!
