There's one thing you forgot to mention Filthy, the smell. Avgas and Kero makes for an intoxicating aroma. The burning of rubber and brake discs mixed with bogan...arrrrrrh smells like home!

I love Bathurst. Have missed the last 3 years but me and the old man used to make a day of it every year. I remember sitting there one year and my old man said "Geesus, they drive em like they hate em". We always got inside the park passes and would spend hours watching the pit crews do there thing. Fantasic fun.

    Broooom brooom.

    Chook.

      Speaking of technical innovations....
Did you see the external engine oil warmer for qualifying?
Diesel powered heating unit with two hoses with quick coupling set up. Gets the engine oil up to around 80 deg so the motor is operating at optimum temp when the qualifying lap has to be run.
      Blew me away LOL

Who won Bathurst was it Ford or Holden or was it Holden or Ford?

Cant wait for the Valiants to come back into it next year.

A tid bit of trivia for ya, the Charger was to be a Ford release, only Chrysler somehow got the blueprints and came out with the Charger before Ford could release their version, which is why Ford came out with the Firebird.

Although the Hemi was superior to any straight 6 engine Ford could produce.

          Chook.

Another note to the older Valiants......they were soooo good to drive.
Grunty & smooth with good handling (for their time).
Got to drive a slant 6 Regal for a couple of months and loved it.

Tony Cochrane would turn the league world on its head. The ARLC should give him what ever he wants to get him here. The V8 super car world is indebted to him, especially us fans. He brought us consistent live racing of every round, he gave us innovative races and qualifying. He took the v8 super car product to the world.

I wish he was here when tv deal was being done. He would have given channel 9 a big blow through.

I think the Mercs will kick arse next season even though they are not factory backed.
Mercedes Australia wants & has nothing to do with it.

I dont like the look of the Nissan, it may look better once it has been pimped. It's not the Godzilla so Im not sure how the Nissan will go.

I feel the Supercar series needed the injection of some other competitors, I wouldn't mind seeing Audi BMW & Honda coming on board as well. I watch the Euro Supercar series sometimes & I have always liked seeing 6 or 7 car makers racing.

The British Super Tourers were the best racing I have seen in years. 4 wide around a corner, never a straight panel left after a race, nudge, bump, swipe, bloody glorious!

                    Chook.

Respect as always Chook but any series with a SEAT racing in it is an absolute joke. The only reason they go four wide round corners is because they only doing 80kmph.
