Best Indian I've had in Sydney is at Holy Cow on Cleveland St. The Octopus with Chilli and Garlic is brilliant.

Best kebabs are at the Yeeros Shop on Illawarra Rd, Marrrickville.

Best Lebonese would be Jasmines at Lakemba. Bit close to bandit country, but worth the risk.

Best pub food is a tough one to call, but I was in the new, improved Carrington just before Christmas, and it was very good. Bit expensive, and a bit trendy, but very good food.

Went to Spice Temple recently, and although it was good, I couldn't get my head around paying $49 for crispy pork belly......spoiled it a bit. Would have been better off at Doytao in Newtown. Or Spice I Am in Surry Hills.

For a very high class dinner, probably the best new restaurant in Sydney I reckon, go to 4Fourteen on Foveaux St.....it's right up there, and not too fancy. Expensive but brilliant, and gives you a good excuse to give the Forresters a visit on the way to the station.

Seafood? Usually just cook it at home.

There endeth the food ramblings of the Loiner.
oooooooo Holly Cow I am going to hit that one love a good curry

Jasmines thumbs up i am a regular

Carrington I can back that one regular there too, was there on Sat night top notch same with spice i am.... dude hit billy kwongs!!!

Anyone got a tip for a good Nasigoreng or authentic Indo?

hey SC great thread especially with me being from out of town but getting to syd a fair bit, so always looking for a good place to munch. just wondering would it be wrong or unfair to start a "places to avoid a feed in sydney" thread? Be good to know if some of the high end places are really worth it.

Its all about the food mate I love a quality feed. The most important room in my house is the kitchen and now my outdoor kitchen, everyone loves coming over for a feed. I did some lamb bugers with tuffles the other day with lettice+tomatoes from my garden dressed with truffle oil on turkish bread......everyone is still freaking out after eating them.
