The Morrison looks like it has a good cocktail list, may try one before having dinner at Peter Doyles at the Quay next week, if I don't go there there is always the Opera Bar for a nice glass of bubbles.
Going to Peter Doyles at the Quay on a travelzoo voucher and I just purchased one also to use at Bistro Lilly, have been wanting to go there for ages.

It means leaving the eastern suburbs though to go to the north shore but I have renewed my passport:

Have to give u all my best fishing tip
Get the cheapest toughest low grade beef you can (prob coles or woollies)
cut in very thing worm like pieces and soak in tuna oil over night
Never comes off fish love it as it takes the tuna smell and u can catch fish all day with the one baited hook" A man can only walk as far as he can see"

Went to the Morrison last night, the old Brooklyn Hotel on George St. Extremely underwhelmed by it.
Its noisy, not sure if it's a restaurant or a bar, and it's very expensive.
It's a tapas/sharing style place, but most dishes are in the $20+ bracket. One of them, sashimi scampi was $32 - for 6 scampi. It was nice, but shit - it needs to be at that price.
Bottles of wine start at $50, so it's one to avoid unless you've won lotto. Even then, there are heaps of places better than this.
The chef is the bloke from Seans Panorama at Bondi. I reckon he's overstepped the mark with this one. Massive thumbs down.

Visited two of the restaurants mentioned on here in previous posts recently
The Original Balkan, it is the first time I have been since they moved to Crown St, extremely disappointing, this place used to be great but it was very ordinary, had my usual favourite whole grilled calamari but it was overcooked and came with just a scabby bit of lettuce, schnitzel was ok but the veges it came with were hideous.Have noticed they are now advertising burger and chips as a lunch time special so I think that is an indication of how far this place has slipped, wont be going back. Will try the seafood one in Oxford St soon, hopefully it hasn't gone down hill.
Hoh Won
Was getting close to closing so ordered steamed dim sims which were yummy and chicken wings which were scrummy, ordered some other chicken dish and fried rice, the first time I have ever eaten in there but have had take away a few times.Cant wait to go back and eat in again, there is just something so lovely and quaint about it.
