It would've been arvo, drove down in one go and I'm sure it was before we hit the place we stayed. It was really busy and I didn't even get out of the car. I did recognise you but couldn't catch your attention and my wife was being served by your offsider.

I wasn't too worried cos I never really contemplated the place ever closing, thought we would catch up again as I always seem to end up at Kenso. The Ole burgers and Hoh Won always draw me in.

As you said that's all Kenso needs more high rises, crikey. So where does one acquire alcohol in that area now???

Before next visit I will PM you and try and stop in at your new shop for a g'day.

All gone now, levelled to the ground, still haven't been back to see it yet but a mate rang me the other day as the last wall was coming down, said it looked strange with just the cool room standing in the debris.
Will definitely try and catch up somewhere when you are down next.

Much better than the average Thai, and up there in the Spice I Am class.

      Will be there again soon.
Catching up with friends on Thursday night and they want to go there, I like it because it is a step up from your average Thai, some different things on the menu than the stock standard Thai.

Went to go there last night but they had a flood in the kitchen so they were closed so seeing there is not much else down there food wise jumped on the bus back to Newtown and went to Atom Thai which was pretty good but not in the class of Baitong.

Went here again on Thursday night, the food is excellent, still haven't had the mushrooms with sate sauce that Sconciege recommended but saw them ordered on the next table and they looked great so going to order them next time.

                          • Had lunch here the other day

                            http://www.theretreatgardenbistro.com.au/Menu.php

Located in the Wests Bowling club at Croydon the family used to have the restaurant at the UTS Haberfield Club before it was demolished and rebuilt. The white bait fritters and the mussels in pot with a pizza crust on top are always good but last Friday had cod croquettes, stuffed capsicum and seafood risotto which were on the specials boards, the stuffed capsicum was nice, croquettes nice and smoky and the seafood risotto excellent, done paella style, the club itself is not much chop but its worth a visit for the food.

                            • Sideways Deli café on Constitution Rd Dulwich Hill. You wont be disappointed & you will be surprised about how many people are there considering it is in a back street of Dulwich Hill.

Or West Pymble off Yanko Rd Munch Deli café there is also an antique second hand dealer that operates out of a garage behind 1 of the shops in the village who has some great stuff from the past eras if you are into that.
