Pizza by Pietro looks very interesting and i really liked the look of the sausage and Italian spinach pizza, in fact they all look good, it reminds me a bit of Renzo's, he used to work out of a food truck which would come to Tempe and it was so popular, he ended up opening a store in Tempe and it was very popular, great place for dine in then along came Covid, they continued doing take away then but cut the menu right down, pizza's were still very good though, then it eventually opened again for dine in but stuff like their beautiful mussel's in a tomato chilli sauce which they had pre covid were gone, they were great to share before having pizza, the place seemed flat even though the pizza's were still good but Renzo admitted the Covid period knocked the stuffing out of him and he was burnt out, he eventually closed up shop. Another pizza place has opened there called Lil Franky's, their pizza are good but the place is fully licensed so no BYO and their wines are $62 a bottle so does not make it a cheap night out.

Looks like he used to own Caracalla pizzeria in Burwood.

      • Won't say 'top feeds' (I dunno the full range of stuff) but places I frequent include:

        - Dead Ringer and Arthur in Surry Hills... solid casual degustation with cocktails kinda stuff.

        - The Balkan... needs no introduction and the owner (John?) is a mad Easts fan. I've seen him nick off, watch the game at Moore Park and then come back on multiple occasions. They always put on a MASSIVE feed.

        - The kebab shop on the corner of Taylor Square that does those faaaaakin EPIC 3am pizzas using kebab meat. Picture SLICES of pizza the size of full family pizzas with shaved kebab meat piled high and BBQ sauce squirted everywhere in a generous spiral pattern. Leave it in the window for 2-3 days and it gets crunchy as too (plus the flavour of a solid weekend out).

        - It's a cafe but Lumiere in Surry Hills. Faaaark their hotcakes (how do I describe them... pancakes but cooked up like donuts with THIIIICK as cream on top) are damn good. Also if you run 130km+ a week then you won't put on weight as they're an awesome form of carb loading. One of the waiters (MAYBE the owner) is frigging classic too. One of those ~60y/o gay dudes who looks like a brick layer (and is about as talkative as one - albeit with a Flacco-esque accent) but as soon as you see him walk you realise he's probably a drag queen or something. QUALITY service from him every time (very efficient/detailed with no bullshit) and the cafe treats are exquisite.

        - Smoky (never been there) but what's that place that's reservation only? Le Salle Dining by Bar Chaplin. NFI why but it's by some Instagram chef I believe and it's setup like a private home (just a picture of a hat outside). Reservation only. Bit of a wanky style but I wanna try it out some time.

        - Many more... many more. That's enough from me though. Oi and come to Canberra... I can do you a barbie.
