Yep thats what i am after, an old school hamburger, will keep my eyes opened for it when i drive down Gardners Rd next, there is a place in the middle of nowhere on Bunnerong Rd Matraville heading towards the cemetary which looks like an old school burger joint, i keep threatining to call into there one day when i am on my way to or coming back from the beach at La Perouse to try it out.Pauls used to be really good but it is nowhere near as good as it use to be these days.Used to like Denos Diner at Tempe, they used to make a good burger but it closed down but on the upside of that we got a Harrys Cafe De Wheels in its place.

Still have not tried Patchettes Pies yet but stopped in at Upper Crust at Collaroy this morning on the way back from Narrabeen and had a chicken advocado and brie pie

I'm guessing they still make a great pie mate???

I always loved their cheese and bacon sausage roll. First place I'd ever seen them and still by far the best I've ever tried anywhere.

From memory their Thai chicken pie was my favorite, just like a proper stir fry in awesome pastry. But they were all great.

      You know it makes sense.

Yep they still do a great pie, just ashame it is so far away.Still my favourite pies are from Haydens at Ulladulla which is even further away which is probably a good thing because i would be the size of a house otherwise.

          Classic mate.

I used to have to drive past The Upper Crust everyday while working for a few years and it was the only thing I still miss about that job, the lunch stop.

Can't find pies up here like that sadly. But then again I probably don't need to make more additions to my belt either.

Their chicken pies are great, i was good, i only had one this time[only because it was not long after breakfast], i almost weakened and had a second. The chicken ones are pricey, all over the $7 mark now but they are still worth every cent

Hoh Won Chinese Restaurant, 134 Anzac Pde Kensington. Great Chinese meal outside China Town, BYO there's a bottles Shop just down the road where a good Rooster man works, wear your colours.

Upper Crust, 1003 Pittwater Rd Collaroy. Pies that are unbelievable, the lines on the weekend used to be huge, always a good sign.

En Casa Spanish Resturant, 423 Pitt St Sydney. Tapas just to die for. Great atmosphere and the service is brilliant, really make you feel welcome. The Albondigas alone is worth the visit.

Ole Charcoal Chicken, 142 Anzac Pde Kensington. The closest to the original Oportos at Nth Bondi, before that went franchised and prices went up and quality went down. The chilli is still oil, the way it should be, painted on. Chips with chilli in the foil chicken bag, I love it. I still get a take away chilli tub whenever I go down and bring it home and fight the wife for it.

I'm hungry now, remembering my old haunts.

Hoh Won is in my top five. Their chicken wings are sensational!

Charging Cross Pizza was an old favourite during my years living in the Jungo. Especially the special garlic breads

I can't believe Bambusia on Newland St is still kicking.

                      Talk about old school.

I cut and paste it from a Seinfeld script website so they can do the pushups...

I work so close to Hoh Won but rarely have had food from ther because my work shifts are all over the place and i often take my lunch.I have ordered the steam dim sims from there a few times and have had crispy skin chicken lunch special and i think it was chicken with creamed corn also, all in all, not bad but the lunch specials are like most other chinese places they fill it up with rice.Must try the chicken wings, i love chicken wings. What i should do on some of my later shifts is ring up not long before leaving work and pick it up on the way home.
