Went to Pilu at Freshwater for a birthday lunch on Sunday, what a beautiful spot, what brilliant and beautiful waitstaff but somehow the food just missed the mark at times, cant put my finger on it, my entrée of spanner crab pasta was sublime but the main just missed the mark , I would love to go back just for the setting and the view but not sure about the $$$ prices are worth it for what you get.

I've heard of that one......isn't it some hot shot Italian chef?
One to miss by the sound of it. Although by the time I get tired of Newtown and Surry Hills, it'll be 10 years before I get up there anyway.
I've found the best hot chips in the CBD. Coles on the corner of George and King Sts do a foil tray of crinkle cut chips for $2. Excellent for hangovers or in my case, migraines..
I also bought the most amazing Easter Eggs from Perfection Chocolates at 700 New South Head Rose Bay. They've been there since 1938, the shop, not the eggs..I also bought a chocolate rooster for myself which I will not be sharing with anyone..

Nah, I'm a simple girl with simple tastes. Were you walking through Martin Place on Thursday around 7.10am with a Roosters backpack?

I had amazing pork belly in Canberra. I always order it when I'm away. It doesn't count if you are away on holidays..I'm making pork for Easter as well..I also made a brilliant steak burger yesterday before the game with a tiny piece of grilled porterhouse, spinach, cucumber, tomato, tasty cheese and steamed mushrooms on a sourdough rosetta roll. I almost took a photo of it to post on here but there is guy at work who keeps doing this to me every time he cooks and it gets mighty annoying after a while..he's a Dragons fan so he has to amuse himself somehow I guess at the moment..
I also like Grill'd on Spring St near Easts Leagues for the vege burgers as this isn't something I'd make at home. I'll be heading there before our Friday night games:

I lost my precious Roosters brooch yesterday..somewhere between Dover Heights and Bay 14..It was the only black spot of my day.. It belonged to a neighbour who is no longer with us and I'm so mad at myself for losing it as I had it on a chain around my neck..

A girlfriend took me to The Morrison on George St when I came home for my birthday and the Dragons game last year. I had a burger and we shared a pomegranate salad as I don't eat oysters but my friend did.

I had a burger at Grill'd the other day and while I wouldn't rate it as the best burger I had ever had it was nice and tatsty and would definitely go back again, the seasoned chips were yummy.
Will check the chips out at Coles, while I usually dislike the frozen pre prepeared chips for some reason I like those crinkle cut style ones.

The one on George St is the only Coles where I've seen these hot chips. They are so yummy and for $2 for a tray is ridiculous considering you can't even buy coffee anymore for that price.

I love oysters and can easily sit down and polish off 2 or 3 dozen. I just hate how many restaurants charge over the top prices for them. Was lucky enough to still get a feed of them while I was up the coast when I was up at Grassy Head and Port Macquarie as the supply was really affected due to the floods.
