I'll give Gillard credit for this great decision though..
I'll let you in on something, if the Libs change leaders, depending who it is, I'll vote for them. Labor NEEDS to be reamed at the next election to promote a change of culture. We must get rid of the Craig Thomsons, the Williamsons, Obeids etc, and replace them with a better class of people, which means opening up the preselections to all member voting and nullifying the factions.

    Chook.

egg father i dont know about you but the ballot i marked did not have a space to elect a prime minister, only the house of representatives and a half senate election, dont get confused withy the us election, the leader of either party is elected by the caucus of elected representatives of that party, not by the public, unless we finally change the system!

Yes i know they are in state politics, but with politics being politics federal or state they are pretty much painted with same brush imo remember Richo and no i don't listen to the radio other than MMM and wouldn't waste my time reading the telegraph even if they gave it away.
On my political leanings my preferences are more on the liberal side of the equation but in saying that i voted ALP last election as i believe in the NBN project and if the Libs got in they would only ruin it with running fibre to node rather than house and to further answer your question on whether or not Tony Abbott should lead this country I would rather Malcolm Turnbull to be leader of the LNP over Tony Abbott.

BROTHERS from the St John of God order fabricated a sex assault allegation about one of their own child abuse victims in a bid to discredit him, confidential legal settlement documents allege.

well postted arties pies, i am very much in favor of the policies you voted on, its hard to vote fror the opposition because their only policy seems to be either stop the votes or total negativity? i suppose they wont release policies too far out from an election remebering hewson let out his gst fightback policy a long way out then lost the unlosable election!

Well if there is to a positive to come from the Rabid Ranga's reign it would be this enquiry. Hopefully it will not get bogged down and politicised and take years to benefit those who deserve some answers.

I've yet to see a Royal Commission give fast, efficient service. Usually dragged out costly affairs that are shackled by the Terms of Reference.

One can only hope it does what we want it to.......weed out these slimy, evil mongrels & deal with them to the full extent of the law.
Those that have knowingly turned a blind eye to any of the abuse need to be dealt with in the same manner. Gutless little turds.
I don't care whether it is a church, scouts, guides or whatever.......go in, all guns blazing.

It's our kids lives we are talking about & there is nothing more precious.

                        Bravo brother/sister.

Preying on kids is the lowest form of existence, akin to cannibalism imo. If found guilty, bullet in the head, shallow grave!

THE Australian Catholic Church holds thousands of pages of documents containing the psychosexual profiles of dozens of clergy accused of sexually abusing children and vulnerable adults.

The profiles, often sent to bishops, were created as part of the church's little-known 1997-2008 rehabilitation program for those it described as ''sexual boundary violators''.

the catholic church archives seems like a great place to start? most of those men are probably overseas now anyway? of course our honourable or otherwise leader of the opposition if elected next year will try to close this down so fast his ex mates, dont forget he trained as a priest!his e3x mates will continue to adore him as will his self professed spiritual mentor bishop ?

I spoke to our bishop today and he said sadly it will take years for this to progress as fact needs to be sorted from fiction. He also said those who have been involved in cover ups are just as guilty. I'm no Julia fan by any means but maybe in years to come this enquiry will be her legacy.

Unfortunately for the completely innocent members of the Catholic Church, it has come to the point where when I hear of a person making it to the level of Bishop in the church, I automatically presume he has had some knowledge of the paedophile culture within the Catholic Church. I am not a member of any church & have no inside knowledge of any goings on within any church, I am merely speaking from a media informed punter's point of view, which I would be the first to admit is a very sad state of affairs.

I saw interviews on the ABC's Lateline show of the policeman (ex now I think) Peter Fox & the following night they had an ex Catholic priest who has turned his hand to investigation I believe (can't remember his name), before the announcement of the Royal Commission & I knew that there would have to be an RC announced, the ex priest said that the Catholic Church has always attracted paedophiles to it's ranks, it has basically been a playground for paedophiles to join & start playing, basically completely protected from scrutinisation, the Church & senior members of the clergy have a hell of alot to answer for, many, many ruined young lives.
