If it's the quote about the holy trinity in sport being the players, coaches and fans blah blah blah, that was a Bill Shankly quote.

          found it, it was this:

Life is made up of 10% WHAT happens to you, and 90% how you THINK about what happens to you.

i think it was mis quoted as vince lombardi and credit is due elsewhere.

Is it one of these two people? Not the exact same quote but?

Reminds me a lot of Greg Chappell: "I'm not batting badly, I just keep getting out."

Think I'll start a thread on famous sports quotes.

Yogiisms are some of my favourite sporting quotes..

"Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't go to yours."

"In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is."

"Half the lies they tell about me aren't true."

"You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you are going, because you might not get there."

On why he no longer went to Ruggeri's, a St. Louis restaurant: "Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded."

"It gets late early out there."

"I'm not going to buy my kids an encyclopedia. Let them walk to school like I did."

When giving directions to Joe Garagiola to his New Jersey home, which is accessible by two routes: "When you come to a fork in the road, take it."

"You can observe a lot by watching."

The future ain't what it used to be."
