  • Proof we need the NBN.

    http://www.smh.com.au/technology/tec...206-2aygy.html

AUSTRALIANS, it seems, are increasingly addicted to the internet: a report from the communications regulator shows we are sucking down hundreds of thousands more terabytes of data than we were a year ago.

In the year to June 30, 2012, Australians downloaded 421,147 terabytes of data, an increase of 52 per cent, while the total internet subscribers increased to 28.23 million.

Nearly half of us (10.8 million) are going online at least once a day and the typical Australian spends 82 hours a month on the internet.

The figures are contained in the Australian Communications and Media Authority's communications report, tabled in federal Parliament on Thursday.
    -----------------------------------------------------------

At this rate, the hodgepodge Crapalition plan will be redundant before the next election. Fact is Australians need and want the NBN and the proof is in the downloads.

    Chook.

From my understanding Abbott wont scrap the NBN anyway, he'll just reduce the cost by 50% and instead of it reaching 100% of Australians it will only reach 75%.

Is there actually any proof that Abbott will scrap the NBN totally?

I can only speak for myself but the high lighted part applies to me.

Being 46 & not having the internet growing up but having the internet now (last 10 years) it is so handy I mean soon as you have a thought about something you dont know you can jump on google & have the answer in seconds or minutes where as before if you wanted to find something out you had to go to the library so you wouldn't bother because it was to much of a hassle & only nerds hung out at the library so you wouldnt find out what you wanted to find out.

When I was around 12 or 13 I remember my mate & I after watching an episode of Lost in space who had the robot in it which Will Robinson could ask him anything to & the robot would know the answer, saying to each other imagine in the future if they had a machine that knew everything.

AUSTRALIAN shoppers set a record in online trading, ordering more than 500,000 items yesterday.

The pre-Christmas rush comes as shoppers ditch traditional retailers to buy online.

Australia Post spokeswoman Mel Ward said 70 per cent of packages through the post office were now online purchases.

The NBN will become THE big item of contention at the next election imo. And no 6, Abbott wants and has to halt the NBN to help pay for him scrapping the carbon price, the mining tax and to fund his paid parental leave.

          Chook.

And can all be done with 4G wireless rather than expensive, fiber. The sooner this multi billion dollar, over budget waste is canned the better. It can all be achieved with 4G.

The biggest election item will be the 3bn dollar waste handout to poor countries to compensate them for something that does not exist.

I called Climate Change as teh biggest wealth redistribution rort in recent history - and now the Australian government confirms it.

Partisan head up arse bullshit on both counts melon.

4G will never keep up with demand with the rate demand is increasing. Fibre future proofs the NBN and creates an IT platform in line with other first world countries.

When will you admit you are wrong about climate change melon? Seriously, you are 100% wrong and have been proven wrong, when will you admit it?
