Are you extending the same message to RWB? I would much rather be called a fuddy duddy (if the shoe fits) than have my contributions towards family and friends questioned publicly, then labelled vulgar to boot.

Really, really sad chain of events.
I think that you will find that it wasn't just the prank call that caused this but it was most likely an added straw to the stack.

Insensitive remarks show a lack of empathy from those that obviously have had no dealings with these situations.
Take a hard look at it for what it is. A fragile person that is in a very dark place. Don't judge until you have been there or at least had a loved one go through this horrible time.

        Weak?

        Really?

        Sad.

Greedy, I see where you are coming from but imo it is never black & white.

I've direct dealing with a potential victim of suicide. Horrible chain of events that weren't the fault of this person but that didn't change the fact that their life was shattered.....and got worse with each day.
To see this person at their lowest & not being able to stop it was the worst time of my life. I have never felt so useless in my life.

The situation had a happy outcome, after almost 12mths of hell. It was only because of the support & love that this person was given by myself & others that he survived & got through it to move into a happier time of his life.

The trouble is with a lot of people that are in this dark place they hide the symptoms very well (does that make them a strong person?).

We all need to keep an eye on anyone that is going through troublesome times.

More of a general warning suggesting that if Greeds' "good stuff" is vulgar, or intends to offend &/or intimidate others on this site, then he might find himself in hot water. That's all! Same across the board.

Lets hope so Mr Moderator sir...

Im all for your stance, but I hope you dont play it with an agenda or let your personal feelings get in the way or your judgement. Surely this thread is against the rules of the site?

Just an example, that is all.

At the end of the day know one knows the mindsett or issues that someone on the otherside of the world may or may not have had, prior to, or after this incident. I think Rooster proud summed it up well.

We are all different and react differently to certain situations. Yes Greedy, as a father of 2 little girls, I see it as weak and heartbreaking and can't believe that a mum would take her life over this. But as I said, you , me, or no one else on here have a clue what was going on in her head either before or after this happened.

I farken hate most media. They are a law unto themselves. Mostly because of the contact I had with them in my previous job. I was stationed at Redfern when the ABC filmed Cop It Sweet. They shot over 100 hours of footage, great arrests, police doing some great and dangerous work, except it was edited down to show 2 hrs of stupid and immature behaviour of a few of my colleagues, 2 of them kids just out of the academy. That lady picked her targets early and stayed away from the police she knew were professional and smart enough not to talk to her. Still can't believe she got an award for that.

I don't believe in tarring them all with the same brush coz know doubt there are some out there that do a good and honest job, but I certainly do not trust them at all. And I'm not saying its all the DJs fault, but like I said, station management have no clue as to the personality of the person they are dealing with, or in this case, playing the prank on, particularly with famous people involved..I think they should all throw their hands up tbh , and most importantly hopefully some people may have learnt some lessons over this. But I doubt it. This will be forgotten about soon enough. A tragic event.

RWB, why the exile? I enjoy your posts. Don't always agree , but that's what a forum is about. Forums break down when certain people cannot believe others dare to have an opinion that is different to theirs.

99.9% of the time prank calls are funny & it's done with that mindset.

You find alot of times when someone commits suicide that the straw that brakes the camels back wasn't the last occuring dilemma but it is a chain of dilemmas. eg The dog dying then not getting the work promotion then finding out your husband is having an affair then the radio prank. It all becomes to hard.

Because John, for months and months now I have put up with DISGUSTING PERSONAL ATTACKS on not only myself but a couple of close friends who post on here and I have tried to accept it with good grace and humour. But I too have a breaking point and have reached it. The minute I fight back, the bullies get all outraged. If you want a new doormat, fellas, go to Bunnings..I'm no longer available for you to poke fun at. I have too much self respect and also respect for those other good friends of mine who are continually easy targets on here because they also dare to have a different view.
Just for the record Mickey, I don't mean you. I really hope Shelley does fetch you that beer..we are in for a long hot summer!

I think you're being a bit of a drama queen and over-reacting, RWB.

I don't recall seeing any disgusting personal attacks aimed at you.

Some light hearted, offseason joking yes, but none of what you're claiming.

As for your bullying claim, this is a forum, where people express their opinion's, if someones opinion is shite, a few people will air theirs.

Maybe look down that alley before you go crying bully.
