I cant remb all the examples but one was Turkey spening and developing within its means and its going great guns.
I dont think there is anything wrong with capitalism but it needs to be better balanced ie the the franchise that really needs to go and I think it would spread the weealth and oppertunity. Anyhow I hope they stop spending and borrowing and start paying off the aussie mortgage so we dont all become debt slaves lol.
The "Franchise" is the epitome of capitalism, minimise the risk by spreading it to the franchee, yet reap the biggest and first cut of the profits.

Capitalism is a cancer and the only way to stop it is to let it implode. If there is another GFC let it burn.

So whats the answer mate or the alternative, that wont lead to ppl giving up and living off the state and will encourage those that want to have a go to work hard and proper? I cant see one!

There is no one alternative, there has to be balance between capitalism and socialism which does not and cannot exist under the current entrenchment of rampant capitalism in the west. The capitalist want to cut spending while the socialists want to increase spending, they are both right and both wrong. Yes we can cut spending. Cut the tax loopholes and revenue streams of negative gearing and claiming luxury cars and trips as a "business expense". Cut funding to private schools that make millions in farking profits!! Cut the baby bonus, the devluation of assests as tax right offs, etc etc. Get rid of state governments. They are an archaic dinasour of institutions and we do not need that level of governement. We did once when we were more spread out, but now with better communications and faster travel, we do not need state goivernments. It would take a long time to transition, but it would save the country hundreds of billions of dollars. Remove all monopolies AND duopolies. Farking Coles and Woolworths rape us and our farmers in the glorious name of capitalism.

Fund public schooling properley. Spend the money on our health system, public transport infrastructure, god forbid a National Internet Network.

Like it or not we are sown to the teat of capitalism and the ONLY way it will be brought under control is by letting it implode. The greed that exists within the finance sectors will never be reigned in by regulation and never voluntarily. Some people, in partricualr that bastion of [insert middle eastern country here] greed Goldman Sachs, made billions during the GFC. Here you have a finance system that feeds upon itself. How long do you think that is sustainable without public bailouts? How many more bailouts do you think will happen before the people say "NO MORE"? The global finance system is doomed to collapse. It is nothing more that a money laundering mechanism for drug cartels and the rich to avoid paying taxes. It serves no other purpose. And when it collapses and money is worth nothing, only then can we think of a better way.

Apologies if I sound I'm on a rant, I get on my soap box over this shit. The bosses of the ANZ and Westpac earn 20-13Mill respectively and get in the papers advising that governments should get rid of penalty rates so businesses can be more profitable. That makes my farking blood boil.

It's only when that kind of greed is completely and utterly eradicated by money being worth nothing, that we'll get a better system for everyone.

        Chook.

I have to say I agree with all of it, for me the key is the franchise thats where all the damage has been done.

My blood boils over when year after year every big bank announces yet another record profit BUT they refuse to fully pass on the Reserve Bank's recommended interest rate cut because of fees and blah blah blah bullshit

I reckon all 6 States & the 2 Territories should all be individual Countries.

I love a good franchise, Jim's mowing is cool. Without Jim I would have to do it.

Hey thats not a bad idea. Having a babe in lingerie getting your beers for you like I do could work. I might get in contact with Jim himself, if it's a winner with Jim you could get a franchise.

Another good franchise is The Sausage King. There are people out there who love there daily serve of a good solid sausage.
