A traditional Dutch snack would be a Satay chicken stick or Bitterballen which is a deep fried ball of unrecognisable slop. Also, a plate of mashed potato with chopped spinach mixed into it and a Rookworst on top would be a regular Dutch meal. They also go for a lot of seafood and are quite drawn to anything fondue.
but other than that, dutch food seems to be a bit on the bland side, lucky theyre famous for their football, otherwise no one would know what the netherlands is!

Hows this though... where we live here in Holland, we have the largest fishing port in the country right on our doorstep and they have these trawlers the size of ships that are soo big that they have their own processing and freezing plants on board so they can rape the waterways, pack it, freeze it then transfer it to smaller boats while still at sea that send it straight to international ports.
They are in the process of launching the same thing in Aus out of Melbourne. They are/were having some legal problems so lets hope it never gets to sail in our waters.Last edited by filthyralph; 01-23-2013, 02:26 AM.

Last night I went out there a bit and made some Spanish Tapas, had friends over. Albondigas which are home made pork meatballs in a tomato almond sauce, chorizo, garlic button mushies, olives, potato somethingorother, jamon. It went down very well. Made a lovely Spanish omelete with leftovers today.
Tonight it may be a simple pizza night. I'm on the cans already, due to the heat, and really have been wanting a few slices of late. Pepperoni, mushies, onion, garlic and chilli, maybe, or margherita. Something simple.
The FlogPen .
You know it makes sense.
