Catlike claws were sharpened in a shock showdown in an eastern suburbs nail bar before the Prix de Marie Claire awards at The Star on Wednesday night.
Bristling and hissing at each other - much to the shock of customers jam-packed at the basins and foot spas at USA Nails in Bondi Junction - were stellar WAGs Terry Biviano and Jodi Anasta, the wives of Roosters captain Anthony Minichiello and Tigers star Braith Anasta respectively.
The pair's talons were being tended (in Bubble Bath nude for Anasta and Lincoln Park After Dark for Biviano) before the extravagant black-tie gala, one of the most sought-after invites on the Sydney social calendar.
Our spy, posing as a pumice stone, reports that as customers were having their feet scrubbed, Anasta fronted Biviano in an attempt to settle a long-ish-standing score between them once and for all.

The stoush began when WAG Nation star and shoe empress Biviano felt disrespected and hurt that Gordon and Anasta had not even bothered to say hello to the bride or groom on their big day.
Friends of the couple whispered at the time that Anasta's behaviour in the church and at the reception was rude.
The icing on the cake apparently came when Anasta's own wedding in Bali nine months later was dubbed a copycat, the former Home and Away actor wearing a bridal gown almost identical to Biviano's and carrying a mirror-image bouquet.
Feelings were hurt on both sides. The Anastas are said to be unaware they had offended the couple so deeply. Their own wedding invitation was turned down, the Minichiellos seemingly not prepared to maintain the pretence everything was OK.
With these rivers of emotion clearly not water under the bridge, when Biviano walked into the nail salon on Wednesday afternoon and saw Anasta finishing up her pedicure, onlookers say the pair smiled at each other from a distance and all appeared fine until Anasta confronted Biviano over her manicure bowl.
''She literally came up to her and stood over Terry wanting to talk about everything,'' one customer said. ''Everyone was staring at them; Terry was trying to defuse the situation and had to stand up and walk away to the nail-drying area as Jodi wasn't going to stop. She wouldn't let up; the whole salon was in shock.''
When asked about the incident Biviano said: ''It was awkward; there is a time and place for everything and a nail bar surrounded by so many people just isn't one of them. What's done is done and I just want to move on.''
Imagine her surprise later that night when she turned up at the beauty awards in a room of several hundred guests in a Gucci creation to find herself seated on the same table as Anasta, also wearing Gucci. Amid a bunch of gossip columnists, no less! While the smiles and champagne flowed, let's just say Sokyo chef Chase Kojima's sesame ice-cream was not the frostiest thing at that table
