  • Blabbotts NBN a $30 billion lemon.

    Any read Blabbotts broadband policy?

They'll put fibre to the end of your street, the 100 year old copper infrastructure will do the rest. It's like putting electric windows in a 1975 Valiant. It's plain stupid.

For an extra $15 bill we get Fibre to home and an internet infrastructure the best in the world.

    Chook.

    Ridiculous.

Rather than spend money on an old fixture spend the extra & move into the future.
Oh, if you live in a unit complex, prepare for shitty service under this plan.

The problem with the idiot Abbott is, he's been so negative about everything that Labour proposed, he's now painted himself into a corner. He can't go back now and say 'you know what, this is probably a shit idea....the original plan was probably a better option all along.'

Why would anyone not want the polulation to have the best technology possible? He really is a farkwit.

No question it is outdated but what we are going to get will cost closer to 200 billion rather than the 42 billion promised.

Under Abbott's (Turnbull's) policy we'll be getting Internet speeds of between 25mbps to 100mbps.

lol, about 99% of Australia wouldn't know what to do with speeds like that.

Tell me Chook why would the majority of households in Australia needs faster speeds than that?

ive got very used to 100 mps on my cable connection, ok im paying for it but if and when fibre makes it to my house it will be cheaper than cable anyway as well as faster than what i have now which is not totally reliable anyway, apparently fibre is very reliable unless its connected up to copper at some node, thats the problem in the uk right now as they try to fix it at further great expense, so the libs want to introduce a current flawed system that will cost us more to fix continually! sounds about right for this mob bereft of any original ideas or policies!

By asking that question you demonstrate how little you know about the subject of the NBN.

Here's a tip 6, instead of pretending to know everything about everything, learn about what you're talking about then talk about it. Speed is but facet of the differences between the two, now go away and smarted up and ask a real question.

              Chook.

the massive concern using old coopper wire from the node is the reliability factor, if you are now using voip ie skype for business or pleasure then that is indeed a big concern! pay peanuts get monkeys , that must be who thought this substandatrd policy up?

I did an internship working on the NBN for 6 months, I would say I've go a fair idea on how it's going to work...

How about answering my question rather than trying to discredit me.

I find it very hard to believe that you did an internship at the NBN and yet know nothing about why higher speeds are more beneficial. Smells like bullshit to me.

Anyway, to answer your question - live streaming. Look up your intern notes if you need to know what that means.

                          Chook.

At 100mbps you'd be able to live stream about 5 different videos on the same connection with no issues.

Tell me I'm wrong on that too...

What speed do we get at the moment?

Ive got cable but have no idea what speed it comes in at.
