Saw the full length version of the Exocist again the other day, decades ahead of its time as a movie.

I never got the Birds. Like Apocalypse Now, I've watch that movie straight, stoned, pissed, on acid...still don't get it.

                Chook.

That lovely box set I was given for my birthday last year has one of her films in it about a grumpy old spinster who was dropped by a man because he had another woman in his life. Instead of doing what any normal disgruntled female would do i.e stick a fork in his forehead, she cut his head off!
I remember seeing "All This And Heaven Too" once on TV. Such a romantic movie for 2 leads who didn't even kiss in this film.

That's the one where the lying cheating man gets his head cut off...every man should watch this. Forget Fatal Attraction...

Im not sure what Hitchcock had in mind with this movie but i just love the premise of a small town being cut off and held hostage by birds that have gone mad and attack, the eeriness and isolation is nerve racking, there are still a few scenes when i get a chill.Tippi Hedron looked lovely in this movie.

I have the original theatrical version of The Exorcist on DVD but remember going to see the extended version on wet Monday afternoon at Paddington before a Roosters monday night game at the SFS years ago, would love the see the extended cut again.

After you get over the gory meat cleaver scene early on the plot twists are amazing, its well worth watching and takes a long while to work out what is really happening, the black and white cinematography is outstanding just like in Baby Jane and Bette Davis, Olivia De Havilland, Agnes Morehead and Mary Astor are just supberb.
