The only time I get up at 4am is if I'm working day shift overtime - and that means they're paying me double dollars. Sports doesn't get me up that early.

That is the overall deficit built up over the years I think Muzz. Last years deficit was about $480 billion which is a record,. Unfortunately Obama's first deficit will be somewhere between $2 to $3 trillion that's 5 to 6 times Dubbleya's worst deficit all in the name of trying to stimulate an economy that is full of excesses built up from easy credit and over consumption. Unfortunately bubbles have to burst and inefficiencies in an economy have be corrected and people will have to bear the brunt of all that.

I disagree, With Obama looking to remove troops from the middle east and afganistan, closing guantanamo bay, (if it comes to total fruition) we will see a MAJOR reduction in capital spending funding a war which turned out to be Bush's Vietnam.

Also Obama has already made the right noises by capping political staff salaries.

From his first week or so in office, he does not look like he is afraid to cut costs and over indulgence from the top.

he just needs to continue this, together with his policies of using american product (much like our australian made campaigns), he will be on the path rebuilding america

All of that won't matter to the American people in a few years when a wheel barrow of greenbacks will only buy a loaf of bread because all the money printed and thrown into the economy has created Hyperinflation like they have in Zimbabwe atm. Obama will lead the US into a depression if he tries to stimulate his way out of the recession.

muz its not about bush vs obama. i dont think anyone disagrees that bushles did some stupid things, combined with the global financial downfall has left them in a pretty poor position. but that time is over, its what obama plans to do that we should be concerned about
