Not sure how others are experiencing it but I find it frustrating how some channels can be viewed perfectly and other can't. For the last 4 weeks channel Nine and it's other channels like GO or Gem don't exist. Last time I saw Nine well was during the Anzac game. Not sure what happened since but no matter what I do with the aerial, I can't see a thing...Meanwhile SBS, ABC and even TVS are perfect. Why have we gone to a system that it still is not perfect? It can't be the location cause I was living in the City and had problems with some channels and now living in Newtown I am having Nine problems. Not happy.

You are not the Lone Ranger.
Try living near a busy airport. The interference at times is beyond belief.
The only thing that I watch on Nein is the footy.
I don't feel the justification in spending more $ to boost the signal because some stations can't be arsed sending a stronger signal to my area.
SBS/ABC are fine 99% of the time.
10 is ok mostly.
7 & 9 the worst.

Have no trouble with any of the channels in the main lounge room where the tv runs off the ariel for the unit block, all the channel are crystal clear. In the bedroom I have a set of rabbit ears, I cannot pick up the ABC or 9 or its other channel Gem but can get Win and the other 9 equivalent channel from Illawarra if I move the ariel around and the pic is very sharp.I live in St Peters.

I've got a similar set up to horrie hastings, where the IQ in the lounge room obviously has no problems, but in the bedroom I have a Telstra T-Box which requires a separate aerial. I had a similar problem a few weeks ago, but I couldn't pick up Channel 10. It took me a while, but a few slight adjustments to the aerial and tuning for the channel again was able to fix the problem. Good luck, I know how frustrating it can be.

Wow I thought these problems were a thing of the past???
I have a booster plugged into the mains power and into an aerial socket. Costs about $100 and without it I get zip FTA.
My daughter took it out the other day to plug her iPod into. No FTA Sunday morning. I wasn't happy. Even called a few TV blokes, then over the phone one asked do we have a booster. When we checked, it was unplugged and we were very relieved. Wasn't looking forward to an aerial repair on a Sunday if anyone was actually available.
Maybe that helps???
I do know we have aerial sockets in every room, it may not help with rabbit ears.

You know it makes sense.

We will be outta here within 3 years (landlord not renewing lease) so I'm not going to spend anymore on it.

You will probably need it wherever you go anyways.
When we bought this joint the old owners wife accidentally packed it with their stuff. When we moved in I got the Teev up and running first, as you do, and I was shattered, nutting. Wanted to sell the joint immediately.
Rang an aerial bloke who came out and sold us one. 10 mins after he leaves the old owner rocks up apologising profusely with booster in hand.
I just laughed and handed him a coldie.

You win some, you lose some.
Mast head & 240 volt mains amp.
Prices start at around $70 to whatever.
Then you have to install the pieces & hope that the coax & connections are in good order. My luck they will be salt corroded.
Pain in the arse.

Ok.
Update for anyone that is interested.
This product has helped me with an easy fix.
Not as good as a masthead amp & 240 Volt booster but has taken my poorer signal from "Very low bad (red)" to a minimum of 1/2 way on the "Good".
Just hook up to 240 Volt power supply & then connect your standard 75 ohm cable to it & then another (if you don't have a spare buy a new one...cheap as chips) one from the amplifier into the TV/Set Top Box.
It has an adjusting screw so that you can select the amount of signal gain.
Has taken a stuttering pic to stable. Happy with that......given that today is a very poor reception day here.

I plugged a plug in the holes and into the aerial hole.
And I'm already lost.
Plug, holes, plug, hole.
