The fukwit spoke about his great self for 24 minutes but what gets me most the party still believes in the carbon tax even though we the people dont and sent them packing. They fail to understand we vote for them to represent our wishes NOT their personal ideologies.

pls dont presume you speak for everyone. I could never vote for a party that refuses to accept scientific research but instead does what is politically and economically expedient and claims to care about my grandkids future. Maybe i misunderstood maybe "my grandkids" is the nic they have for their bank account

abbott will be a passing fad, just like cheering for souffs is right now, sells more papers, since he didnt release costings before over20% of the people voted on prepoll then he has no mandate to demand the senate pass his legislation. the carbon tax is already gone compliments of rudd the ets introduced by the alp with a mandate will not be dismantled then if hes got the guts in a few months time he can try us with a double dissolution?i think saner heads in the libs will prevail over nuttcase tony on this they justy know if they call another election within 12 months they will cop a hiding!

Sorry Stephen, I think Abbott will be in government for at least the next 6yrs mate. I can't stand the bloke personally nor could I stand KDudd but some very intelligent political people (if there is such a thing lol) see it this way and I have no reason not to believe them.

Murdoch got his way, and the sheep followed suit and voted in Gina's and Rupert's puppet Mr T Abbott. This was about the NBN and Murdoch stood to lose too much if that happened. Welcome back to the Copper Age!!!!

Exactly mate. And if they had of realised this in time and not buried their head in the sand, they may still be in. I say this coz I don't believe Abbott is terribly popular. People were just over Labors Bullshit

Foxtel would have died. People would have been able to stream free TV from wherever....I have mates that already do it albeit still pretty shitty, overseas friends etc...spoilt for choice...stream all sorts of shows from oversesa. The other benefits...which would have been more beneficial to society being better education services...I am actually studying online at the moment......more bandwith for virtual lectures, also health, medical consultations to remote areas etc.

10 years ago there was a report also commissioned re our century old copper wires. They were estimating that the copper technology is less than 20 years away from being overhauled and replaced anyway, in other words 10 years before I major overhaul is required.

Its called progress mate....like 150 years ago the post, the telephone, the basic internet, etc.......optic fibre is the way of the future.

In Japan the internet speeds they can get now are thousands of times quicker than what we will have under the new Abbot/Turnbull Broadband....why because of fibre technology. The NBN can be done cheaper than what the Labor govt as doing (They were also apparently doing deals for mates which is why the costs were blowing out....Labor cannot run projects very well....but Liberals being naturally conservative in nature don't even want infrastructure projects)...in other words were are screwed.

If you think I am a rusted on Labor person I am not....I am just disillusioned with the 2 party system. I wished Australia was a forward thinking country and encouraged innovation and realistic infrastructure development.

Murdoch and Telstra stood to lose a lot if the entire NBN project was completed. Foxtel would have almost become redundant as it would have been a dinosaur compared with the new technological options and people would have realised they were being ripped off to access x number of foxtel channels for $50 to $100 plus per month.

Foxtel could have been delivered over the NBN at a much cheaper price as well as offering a much more tailored channel structure imho.
