Is this any good for around $1000..???

I know it is not as good as some, but I am on a budget with this..
For 1080p that is remarkably cheap. The specs look acceptable at that price.

Telefunken nowdays are more a rebadger of products. From what I have read their LCDs are Samsung panels and thats not a bad thing.
Go into OOs shop front in Alexandria and have a look and see if they have any working

I've got a 720p Telefunken, not half bad. Vertical viewing angle is a bit dodgy (ie. if you are lying on the lounge and your head is lower than usual, the screen is darkened) but other than that I recommend it for an LCD under $1000

            Got one

I used the weekend to look for the set I had my eye on. Went into JB Hi Fi and was looking at the Sony Bravia 40" 50Hz set. Spoke the sales dude and he said, "you don't want that one, you want this one". It was the same except 100Hz but cheaper. It seems that JB put the wrong price in the Coffs Harbour catalogue so they have to honour it. Comes with a free PS3 that plays Blue Ray discs. It was close to $500 off!!!!!!

I have paid in full and pick it up this weekend. Can't wait for Xmas day as it is a family present.

            Get in there people.....

It cost me $1490. It was reduced from about $2000.

PTB, it is the W series I believe. I do know it is the 100Hz version.

KB, no I am still on the Central Coast. I found it funny that the sales guy in Tuggerah JB Hi Fi said that the catalogue in Coffs had the wrong price so they had to honour it. I mean, who would know unless you were in Coffs?

Actually, just looking at the store locations, it does not look like they have one in Coffs. I may have heard wrong....

As for deals, it seems most of the major brands are offering something or other. My only advice would be if you are going to go for some free offer, get the free thing that you want and can use. No sense in getting a free TV (panasonic I think) if you have no where to put it.

Good luck but don't leave it for to ling as the deals may stop - for a short time of course..
