  • I cooked tonight as Mrs Salvo is away for a few days

    Mulligatawny Soup

    Butter Chicken and Vegies - Potatoes/Carrots/Broccoli/Beans/Peas

    Apple Pie Custard and Ice-cream

    • Turkey meat loaf with mash potato, steamed carrot, zucchini and broccoli last night. Have enough meatloaf left over for another meal but out tonight and having dinner at one of our favourite restaurant Linda's which is closing for good next week after being around Newtown for the last 30 years. Going to be hard choosing what the last meal will be as i love their seafood chowder or salt and pepper prawns for an entree.
      Hope they have the chicken jambalaya on as the main, if not their duck or seafood stew will be good.
      Will be out on Friday to watching the Roosters game somewhere so it will be dinner out also so the left over meat loaf will probably end up as lunch time sandwiches.

        Mrs Salvo Purchased a Ninja Multi Cooker and Ice Cream Maker so giving them a test as Mrs Salvo will be away - off to Russia for 4 weeks- not safe for me to go - 3 functions on the Multi Cooker - Pressure cooker / Combi steam /Air Fried-Hob

        All good so far

          Salt and Pepper Prawns, superb.
          Chicken Jambalaya very good.
          And in honour of Kingsrove - Loiner the warm ginger cake with cinnamon ice cream for desert ( was KL's favourite desert there ) also ordered a side of licorice ice cream and their Christmas cake ice cream.
          A couple of belinis to start with.

          Superb dinner overall and surprised we both ordered exactly the same thing ( although i added the licorice ice cream and Christmas cake ice cream at the end)

          The end of an era, going to miss you Linda and Graham although we will see you around the area locally.

              • Homemade pizzas tonight. One, chicken, bacon, red onion, baby spinach, Camembert cheese and a drizzle of hollandaise sauce. The other boring ham & pineapple for the unadventurous one.

                  The thing i don't see anymore are the chicken lovely legs as i like using those in a casserole i make.

                    Great minds MR, i'm doing pizzas tonight to have while watching the Swans. Have salami, artichoke, olives, zucchini , roasted red capsicum.

                    Your first combination sounds great but totally agree with you about the ham and pineapple. I don't mind pineapple on a pizza, there is a place we used to go which has chicken, bacon and pineapple on it and it works, also a place in Narrabeen which we go for and i order this combination Pepperoni, pineapple, onions, cheese and bolognese sauce.and it is scrummo, also on a vegetarian but i just find ham and pineapple to one note.

                    Making a tomato and feta bruschetta on sourdough before hand.

                      That’s good to know. I use the lovely legs for my apricot chicken recipe but don’t cook it very often. Woolies usually sell them in the macro range but as I haven’t made that meal for a while I haven’t looked for them recently.

                        Yours sounds good too! I would definitely try that pepperoni pizza.

                            I was going to ask Salvo what sort of fish he had in his fish and chips, i was thinking Birds Eye.

                            • Going to try and stretch out the leftover seafood pasta from Saturday night for dinner tonight. Also have an avocado i need to use so will do something with before the seafood pasta.
