We often make it at home when we have some left over cream from other things.

Stir Fry turned out alright with the lamb mince last night but drained off a bit of fat before hand because the lamb mince was quite fatty, didn't put in the water chestnuts as there was enough veges.

Tonight is pizza night, bought a couple of bases so will construct a couple at home, have ham, salami, olives, capsicum, artichoke, mushroom, semi dried tomato, will check what else may go on them, will get some fresh basil from downstairs. Have chicken wings as nibbles before hand.

Homemade beef pie sounds good and perfect weather for it.

Lamb can be very fatty can't it. I spent yesterday afternoon slow cooking the filling. I will construct the pie later today for tonight. It's wet, miserable and cold today so looking forward to it.

Its the first time i had made a stir fry with lamb mince and it was tasty enough but i don't think i will do it with mince again, i have made some with pork mince before and they have been nice and nowhere near as much fat as the lamb mince but i prefer a stir fry with pieces of the protein so wont do it with mince again.

Sounds like your weather in Canberra is the same as Sydney so it is perfect pie weather.

Going to a retro dance tonight so just going to have a pub feed before the dance, hope they have a pie on the menu.

I have to admit I’ve never tried mince in a stir fry before. The pie was good!

            • After getting breakfast in bed and then a cafe lunch, it was a simple omelette and salad for dinner.

Mince works for a stir fry but i do prefer chunkier cuts of meat or strips, went to Coles after the game today on the way home and they had nice pieces of pork cut up and reduced which would have been perfect for the stir fry the other night.

Seeing it wasn't to late after the game ended up picking up a chicken from Coles to roast and had roast veges with it, potato, sweet potato, carrot , parsnip and garlic.

                • Came up for Jared’s 300th, staying in Coogee again, and again went to barzura for the mussels, but they have added a seafood chowder to their menu(maybe for the colder months) I got the chowder and the wife got the mussels. As always the mussels were great, but now the chowder was outstanding!

Well worth trying, we may stay an extra night, so will pop in again if we do.

That’s what I generally use, chunks or strips of meat.

                    Tacos tonight.

I still haven't tried the Mussels at Barzura yet but the seafood chowder makes it another reason to go sometime soon.

Was over at Randwick today and had a late lunch at 22 Grams, they do the best corn fritters with avo and coriander, just yum, their chicken and avo sandwiches toasted are good too, the bread they use is top shelf.

The only stir fry I've used mince in was pork in a chow mein. We had T-bones from the local butcher tonight with mushrooms, eggs and home made chips . Very basic but satisfying

My wife’s niece is at unsw, and she likes that place too, will have to try, she also recommended little kitchen up the road from main st Coogee, think we’ll try it out tmrw morning before driving back home.

Most times i go to visit at Prince Of Wales hospital i call into 22 Grams for lunch. Most likely will have to go to Prince of Wales again on Thursday so will plan to go a bit later and then might head down to Coogee for dinner or at least start out for a drink at the Legion Club.

You have just taken me back to the late 60 s early 70 s as one of my aunties used to cook steak , eggs and homade chips for dinner, loved dipping the chips into the egg yolk, my uncle used to have long neck of Flag Ale beer while having his steak eggs and chips.
