    The zucchini and lamb mince was a winner, i will make it again but might leave it for a day or two so the flavour goes through it more.
    We usually do take away on a Friday too (every second Friday) and I whip up something simple the alternate Friday. That way we can eat in front of the footy too. Other days, I insist we all (well those at home) eat at the table. I think I might do my Thai chicken curry tonight.

    • I’ve changed my mind and am making a savoury mince pie. It’s one of my Dad’s old recipes. It has a layer of tomato, onions and mozzarella cheese at the top and is cooked in a cup of red wine. He got if from an old recipe book from the 80s which I now have possession of. It’s a perfect day for it I think.

          I make Sunday nights my go out and have dinner night most times as i have Mondays off, so much more civil going out to the pub or club for a couple of drinks before dinner on Sunday compared to Saturday nights when the world goes crazy.

            What hotel was this at Ism ? the pics of the clams and shells have my mouth watering, i love clams and pippies. Also give me a feed of Moreton Bay Bugs and i'm a happy man.

            • Going to Thainesia on Oxford st for dinner tonight, looking forward to their prawn and betel leaf starters, hopefully they will have their fried oysters back on the menu.

                            It was dead customer wise after 6.30pm. Had everything done and reconciled when the door came down at 8pm so only missed the opening 8 mins of origin by the time i got home. Pasta bake was in the oven and still warm so tucked into it after a quick shower, very nice with a glass of red and enough for another meal.
                            Dislike doing closing shifts and haven't had to do many over the last few years but new manager in and has tinkered with the roster, mind you the one week where i do a four day shift has been condensed into a three day week so i suppose I can't really complain about doing some closing shifts seeing i have an extra day off but geez I'm just not used to doing the closes anymore.

                              Yeah there comes a point where working that late is just no good. I've been spoiled where most of my working life was at a bank or the Public Service. Not many late nights there unless I was doing overtime.

                              • Simple feed of oven baked mango/chilli chicken legs with steamed broccoli, carrots and jasmine rice with a little Korean sweet chilli sauce on top.
