      • Just a small steak Diane tonight with veggies, it’s one of hubby’s favourites and it was just the two of us for dinner tonight.

The old Diane sauce is so retro but a classic that has stood the test of time. I want to have a proper Beef Wellington again one day, to fiddly to make from scratch so it is finding a restaurant that will make a proper one.

Loved the seafood i did tonight, i ended up sauteing the squid with the onions and garlic before i added the tomato, wine and other seafood, i cut up some parsley to garnish on the dish but ended up throwing the stalks in with the tomato liquid and it imparted a beautiful flavour through the sauce.

Better half made the risoni and meatballs last night for dinner and honestly it was the best ever made, the flavours through it were amazing, i enjoyed the left overs for lunch today ( that was after having seconds last night ) . I will have to hand write and print the recipe for you MR as it wont let me post the hard copy of the recipe on the site seeing i'm not a paid member.

Beef Wellington yes I have never tried one but it looks so good. I should try and make one some day but would need to find a free day where I could devote some time to it as it would be a lot of work. That risoni and meatballs recipe sounds better every time you mention it!

            • Went to an Indian joint last night, which was pretty awesome. They had some upbeat Bollywood music cranking and did a solid lamb vindaloo with naan. Shoulda taken a few photos as it was a neat setup... a chain that apparently made the world's largest dosa in ~1996.

The degree of difficulty of making that dish scares me MR so i would myself be leaving it to a seasoned chef to make it for me.
Had to have a bit of a chuckle when i said that the Diane sauce is so retro but a classic earlier as i just opened the latest Coles magazine and it was a page saying Retro revival, Best ever Steak Diane.

Yes you’re probably right with the Beef Wellington. I’ve seen the contestants have to cook it on MasterChef and it looks very complex and time consuming! Lol about the Steak Diane. I’ll have to compare the Coles recipe with mine. As I’ve mentioned before, the other half is a very fussy eater but loves steak, which is one of the reasons I make the recipe regularly.
