Whats on the menu for dinner these days??

G'day Roosters I made a fiery Goan prawn curry with a spice tailor kit and home-grown thai chilli's. Served on jasmine rice with garlic naan bread . Very hot and spicy .

Oh Renty it was so good, everything on the plate worked well and the gravy to go with it just yummmm. If you were up in Sydney i would have invited you.

if you were to have two other posters on here to dinner, who would they be and why? Better still, what would you be cooking for them?

There a few that would come to mind but narrow it down to two and i'm going to nominate two people who are still on the members list but haven't been active on here for a long while, Kingsgrove Loiner because he knows his food and and has loved the recommendations that i had passed on about some of the local restaurants including Linda's on King which became a favourite. Also Wicked Angel who is another who shares a common interest in fine food and eating out like me . Neither have posted on the board for a long while Wicked Angel especially, its been 10 years but i keep in contact with her . Not sure what i would make them though, would be some sort of seafood stew or a curry dish, either of these i would have to work on cooking these dishes a few times before inviting them over.

One of my favourite things to cook are mussels in a tomato chilli sauce/ broth and if i made that i would ask one of the current posters which is milanja because i know he loves his mussels, the other would be mightyrooster because we both like sharing the good old family favourite hearty type meals, with mightyrooster i would make either a good old fashioned roast lamb with all the trimmings or more than likely lamb meatballs with risoni.

Not sure what is for dinner tonight as had a big lunch and have a play to see at one of the local theatres so might just drop into the local Vietnamese and get some rice paper rolls.
But for tomorrow night i picked up some peri peri chicken wings which the a shop in the centre i work out was bombing out late in the afternoon, will build a dinner around them , they are so yummy and heat up a treat, if i usually get them on a Friday i have them with dumplings and noodles but today i got four containers so more than enough for a full meal by themselves.

That would be good milanjja . Yes that is right about Sydney Concierge , apparently we crossed paths at Grandma's kitchen at Alexandria one late brunch quite a few years ago, , my better half said they noticed someone looked like they were doing work at home walked in and they said for some reason that stuck in their mind, when mentioning Grandma's at Alexandria Sydney Concierge mentioned he was at Grandma's that morning wearing clothes he was doing renovations in and also remembers some dude wearing a red white and blue t shirt which i was wearing at the time and the time frame fitted exactly.

Tonight before the play we went to Mother Yen and had beef rice paper rolls which were yummy, then had steamed wontons and steamed chicken and mushroom dumplings , a nice light dinner after the late lunch.

Thanks Horrie. You got it right there with my favourite style of cooking, good old family favourites, traditional hearty classics, rustic style lol. Wicked Angel must have been before my time and I do remember Kingsgrove Loiner but haven’t seen him here for ages.
