  • Red lentil curry tonight. My daughter's vegan so occasionally I'll cook a meal we all can eat together.

Glad you liked the kit MR it's like me , pretty simple . I cooked the spice tailor Rogan Josh tonight. Added some Trinidad scorpion chilli , diced potato and lamb rump steak . It was really good with steamed rice and naan bread.

Thanks Crab. I notice they seem to be on special a lot, alternating between Coles and Woollies, which is a good thing.

Used to make salmon patties but no matter what i added to them i just couldn't get them up to scratch flavour wise, i then saw a recipe for tuna patties on the back of a packet of dutch curry and rice soup and made them and they were yummy so make it with tuna and the soup mix now.

Was up the in Port Macquarie last November and there is a cafe called Noshtalgia and they do old fashioned and comfort dishes like silver side and corn beef, hearty roasts, rissoles, the day i went they were doing salmon rissoles so i ordered them and they were yummy. If i lived in Port i would be dining at this place at least once a week, just real great comfort food.

Yes curries always taste better the next day.
Noshtalgia is tucked away in a small arcade but it is always packed, the day i walked past it and they had corned beef and white sauce as one of the specials on the specials board outside i voewd that i would try it out one day, i would have that day but had already had lunch.

Home made chicken schnitzel tonight with home made wedges and coleslaw.

                      • it's always those hidden gems . I have a secret cafe across the road from the glen Innes motel in the New England. For when we're gemstone fossicking. Simple pan fried parmesan cauliflower, crumbed steak and veggies really hits the spot after a day's digging .

I tell you what Crab, it was one of the best organised events i had been to, the food and wine kept flowing and all the dishes were just great to eat, fabulous and moreish , the only thing that went back to the kitchen was the lamb shoulder and it wasn't because it was a bad dish, it was because there was way to much of it. Only one of the sisters were there tonight, Helena, but she was so generous with her time and you could tell she was very genuine. Just a fantastic night.
Funny thing with this dinner before we went out we had just about decided on our Greek Island itinerary for the upcoming trip.
