Lol, thanks Salvo. My daughter used to always say that to me. I still enjoy watching Masterchef but can’t stand that other show. I really don’t think my style of cooking is up to the Masterchef standard.

Yes, i don't mind Masterchef but really went off MKR along time ago.
About 6 weeks ago went to a dinner which was done Helena and Vikki who were on MKR in season 5 , the dinner was to promote their new cook book, what they said about MKR was horrific, the contestants were told they had to create drama and conflict with other contestants as that rates well on TV, as one of them said they couldn't do it as they were there for a cooking challenge not a bitch fest, they refused to play ball to what the producers wanted them to do which was great as they seemed like lovely girls, they said they were glad when they finished up there, they were invited back a couple of years ago and just said no.

Yes, i don't mind Masterchef but really went off MKR along time ago.

Funny you should mention that Horrie. It’s similar to something I heard. Years ago there was a Canberra Mum and daughter team on there. I remember the kids (who were primary school age at the time) and myself were really excited to see local contestants on the show. They owned a shop in Tuggeranng which we visited regularly. On MKR they were painted as ‘villians’. When I visited their shop after the season ended they told me all about their experience and how the producers would deliberately do things in the middle of a challenge just to get a reaction from them to rev up the drama to suit their agenda of making them the villains. They were so happy to be out of there. They thought they were going on a cooking show. I haven’t watched MKR since they told me their story.

I'm a little partial to a good lasagne, and pizza and beer always go well while watching sport. Though I'm not really into cross-country basketball.

FWIW I went to primary school with a contestant (Austinmer Public School in the Gong). She called out to me when I was walking down Oxford st (didn't recognise her or really remember her as I had a shyte time at that school and we weren't friends... same year and classes but zero connection).

I said hi, had a bit of a chat (went on for ~30 mins as she was super interested), exchanged numbers (she was VERY keen to 'stay' in touch) and I tried adding her on Facebook after this. She then sent me a long, HEAVILY worded message along the lines of 'leave me the fark alone... stop stalking me just because I'm famous'. I was like woooah... YOU were the one who recognised me and suggested we remain in touch. Also I have NFI what you do for a living!!!! Didn't realise you were a major celebrity. But fine, whatevz really.

Curious, I Googled her and was like 'oh right... she got knocked out in the early rounds of some kitchen show and is now a sommelier at some semi-fancy restaurant. Power to her'.

Anyhow, that's my single dealing with somebody from one of those cooking shows (which I don't watch).

Oh and I met Zumbo a few weeks ago at one of his high teas at the QT. He was pretty awesome... wish his shops were still around as I love sweet stuff.

The lasagna was really nice, chicken and mushroom, the left overs are my lunch tomorrow.
Pizza was good, got a Gamberi and also a Trevi ( Italian sausage , spinach, garlic and chilli ), both were yummmm, had a cheapo sav blanc with it.
I like a beer when i'm out but rarely drink beer at home, have a six pack in the fridge that just went past its best before date but it will be fine for another 3 months or so. Was getting over a head cold so didn't feel like a beer or wine while watching the game but i poured myself a scotch and coke with lots of ice, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Meat....fatty meat. Nothing else. Since Melanoma hit me in 2010 a carnivore diet was my answer. 15 kilos lighter, harder at 58 than most 38 year olds, and cancer free. Meat and fat. No carbs. No sugars. Carbs = sugar- feeds cancer.

'Twas good. Mrs was happy so all is well. Never heard of a Gamberi or Trevi. They sound like Sicilian crime families.
