  • Lol all this talk of steak chips and eggs. My Mum used to always cook chops, chips and eggs. It was a regular meal for us growing up in the 70’s.

That’s funny horrie, my father-in-law said eggs with steak was the most common pub meal back in the 60s when he came here.

Hope everything is ok with your visits to the children’s hospital

Thanks mate but its not the children hospital section i'm visiting, its my father who is in with Pneumonia plus a few other things, thinking he will be heading into care after this as he is incapable of living at home anymore even though my brother has been looking after him there.

Funny how i remember my uncle sitting up having his steak egg and chips with the bottle of Flag Ale in front of the TV on one of those TV tray tables on legs, i was always mesmerised when i stayed at our Aunties in Darlinghurst as the view out her kitchen and lounge room were towards the harbour bridge and the way it was lit at night with the blueish green lighting was magical as a child.

                            • Pizza tonight from Made In Italy in Alexandria, ordered a supreme and also a vegetarian, just couldn't be bothered going out for dinner tonight after having a nice afternoon on the harbour at the Pyrmont food and wine festival

                              • Salmon, broccolini and mashed potato.

Side note we hit up Maccas after my son's basketball today and the bill for 3 muffins and drinks came to roughly $40. Not crying poor but it was pretty lame IMO (particularly when they had an ad for '$5' muffin and drink deals stuck to their drive through - with the 95c after the $5 barely visible. It also had a footnote then alluding to this only being for purchases made via their app).

Shrinkflation was pretty hectic (these muffins were microscopic) and I left feeling unsatisfied. Sigh. Guess there's a reason why I haven't visited Maccas for a while. Though it's iconic, it now appears to be just a front for Uber Eats deliveries and suckers who don't read the fine print in relation to their meal deals. Lame... next time I'm going somewhere better.
