Whats on the menu for dinner these days??

    Roast chook was good and the sweet potato and parsnip were so sweet. Did enough veges for another dinner and still half the chook left so dinner is sorted again for tonight or tomorrow night.

        Agree, both are really good but if I had to choose I would pick the lamb. It's definitely on my meal rotation now. I've actually been able to freeze the rest to make another dinner for 3, since one of us won't eat the meat. She loves the rest of it though!

          Yes the lamb wins hands down here, have not made it with the beef since the first time i did the lamb mince.

          Spag bol tonight so will have the left over roast tomorrow night.

              • Beautiful dinner at La Ricetta in Enmore

                Started with bruschetta with artichoke tapenade ( yum ) then had salt and pepper squid and prawns after that( excellent ), ordered the seafood risotto for myself and the better half ordered veal in lemon, risotto was very good, the veal was good but a little bit overcooked and the potatoes that came with it were in the same side dish as the other vegetables so not as crisp as they should have been, still pleasant enough though.Both finished with a pear and vanilla cake with vanilla ice cream, very good. 4.5 stars out of 5 , lost the half star because of the veal a tad over cooked but very good over all.

                • Home made chicken and vegetable soup tonight. Plenty of veges, carrot, parsnip, swede, zucchini , leek, celery,broccoli stem, garlic, parsley, using celery leaves and parsley stems to, the parsley stems give it an even nicer flavour. Perfect weather for it.

                        Used a whole chicken and made one of those big boiler pots full so plenty left over, a couple of times last winter when i made it i just used chicken thighs on the bone and then pulled the meat off them but the whole chicken works out my economical .

                        Perfect whether for lamb shanks, i was going to do one of Karen Martinis one pot lamb chops dishes but have decided ion the risoni with lamb meatballs because its easier to eat while watching the football tonight.Going to have some nice nibbles before hand.

                              • We had a simple garlic chicken ravioli with carbonara sauce with fresh chives and parsley tonight. It was very easy and pretty damn good .
