  • Fish Soft Tacos and salad. I love them but I'm still hungry. Should've cooked some hot chips too.

        • Pasta e fazioli

old recipe from my mum, kransky, pancetta, garlic, carrots sweet paprika, chilli, cannelloni beans, potatoes and risoni, simmered down to a thickish soup consistency for a couple hours. I add grated pecorino to serve.

filling and comforting on these cold Canberra nights.

            • Avgolemino. It's a Greek chicken stock based soup. My mum would boil a whole chook to make the stock. I just use stock cubes and chicken thighs.

              1 litre water
              1 chicken stock cube
              3 chicken thighs

Boil in pot for 40 minutes. I use the pressure cooker. 20 minutes will suffice.
Meanwhile cook your rice and squeeze 2 lemons.
Whisk 2 eggs. I use a stick mixer. Slowly ladle stock in with the eggs whilst continuing to whisk. 4 to 5 ladles of stock.
Then add egg stock mix back into the pot with the remainder of the chicken stock
              Add lemon juice
              Add rice
              Add pepper.

Seriously the best soup and so easy to cook.

I haven’t had mussels since in Coogee couple months ago, so made them tonight, did my usual sauce, but added basil like at barzura, very tasty, I think I’ll try the sweet Thai basil next time.
Its funny, went to Coogee last Thursday night with intentions of going to Barzura for the mussels, went to Legion club first for a drink and the raffles but ended winning a $25 bar voucher and a $50 restaurant voucher in the raffles so stayed there for dinner instead, turned out a very cheap night.

                          Cook your rice.
Brown your chicken pieces. I like to use thighs. Add to ALDI curry simmer sauce.
Cut up your vegetables. I used Broccolini. Add to simmer sauce when the chicken is cooked through. Cook for 2 minutes if you like your veg crunchy and serve.

                          I gave it a 7/10

Gelbisons at Bondi do great mussles. Zuppi di Cozze

Their crab pasta is the best on the planet! They use fresh blue swimmer crab and extract the crab meat in their kitchen.

Love mussels , my favourite place to have them even though i don't get there often is Cafe 66 in Port Macquarie. Renzo's at Tempe used to do good mussels but it has closed down now.
