Probably trying to make a Waldorf Salad or a Ritz Salad

Prawn and scallop in lettuce leaf. stuffed chicken wing, salt and pepper calamari and Panang curry lamb shank at Atom Thai in Newtown tonight, absolutely sensational and service didn't miss a beat despite the place being packed with large groups.

Going to have to plan a few stir fries and vegetable dishes over the next week as we won a big vege tray earlier at the Coopers hotel, plus a bottle of wine which we had with the above mentioned dinner. Already have lamb mixture in the freezer and will stuff the two large zucchini's in the tray. Capsicum, broccolini, bok choy will go in a stir fry someway and also there is eggplant, corn, potatoes, carrots,onions which will be used but will give the cucumber to a neighbour. Lots of vege dishes coming up over the next week.

Pickling some beetroot to use for salads, sandwiches and burgers, so much nicer doing it yourself than the tinned variety.

Have to put the thinking cap on for lots of vegetarian dishes over the next week with the huge vege box we won last night.

Have that as a back up for dinner tonight as more than enough left over from the other night when i made it, it depends as we are going to the Bayside food and wine festival today at Mascot and they have usually have some good food options, also depends on how much we drink as well as quite a few wineries and distilleries represented there, so reheating the lamb meatballs with risoni would be an easy option depending what we have during the day. Pizza another option.
The vege tray also had some nice cherry tomatoes in it so could do a nice prawn, chilli and tomato pasta or a nice bruschetta with them but those would be another night.

Isn't it funny, it is always great eating out and trying different foods while you are on holidays but you get to the point where you just crave a proper home cooked meal.
