Parsley Bay is often referred as a great spot for jackets around the rocks or nets.
Where i fished in the harbour was mainly at Beulah St wharf at Kirribilli and that was my leatherjacket hot spot, also late Jan and Feb some nice flathead there also, quite a few bream there over the years but the leatherjackets and flathead were the prize catches. Also fishing for jackets would catch a few goat fish which are like red mullet and they were great eating.
The other place i noticed that was a good luderick spot in the harbour was the next wharf around, Jeffery St wharf right next to the bridge, one regular i knew fished there and would always get 4 to 6 fish a session, he came around to Beulah st one day to try his luck but only got one there and he ended up giving it to me.
You were always guaranteed a down directly after the ferry left Rose Bay Wharf as it would stir up the bottom and excite the Luderick.

Quick funny story. We'd fish between the Rose Bay sea plane wharf and Catalina restaurant for Bream. The Bream would sit under the restaurant and wharf so the idea was to cast as close as possible. One fine afternoon, my good mate Mick got his cast all wrong and his half pilchard (the head and stomach part with the guts hanging out) hit a patron that was sitting out on the balcony square in the head. Man we laughed so much it hurt.

      • Well after a late morning early afternoon having someone coming around to service our air conditioner and after wards having a later lunch and then some physical and mental therapy at the pool at Allianz stadium going to have a very a very lazy dinner, have a couple of the Coles fresh pizza ready to go into the oven, will see whether one will be enough before deciding on the second, meanwhile having a scotch ( or two ) and some salted peanuts, caper berries and olives.

Not dinner but over the last week some mornings i have been beating a couple of eggs for breakfast and adding some cream corn to it, not only i have been finding it delicious but i find also i'm still not hungry when it comes to around 2 pm, i just find it sustains me longer during the day than other breakfasts like cereal or porridge.

Eggs are a great protein. My sister is a big fan of eggs for breakfast and it’s the only thing she’ll eat for breakfast now. I love corn as well. Love a yummy corn n the cob in summer.

Over the last few months i have been getting duck eggs, their yolks are so much deeper colour and richer in flavour than a chook egg but with the creamed corn the chook eggs are perfect. I bought some creamed corn as i had been craving a ham and cream corn toasted sandwich for ages and at the moment there seems to be only larger cans of cream corn at the supermarkets so have a bit left over so it goes nicely with the eggs.
I should actually try and make some corn and zucchini muffins with the left over corn one day.

Yeah true, when my father was in Prince Of Wales hospital i would often head across to the cafe called 22 Grams at Randwick and have their sweet corn fritters, they were so yummy, the added coriander they had with them gave them a great savoury taste.

Could also knock up a quick Chicken and Sweet cor soup too.

It's a Greek Orthodox thing. In Greece they celebrate ones name day and not so much their birthday. I had no idea until family started sending me txts
