Oh you just reminded me of when we lived at Paddington and didnt have a car, we used to go to Long Jetty for holidays , would catch the train from Central and then the red bus which went to the Entrance via Long Jetty, we stayed at one of my mothers aunties house and i remember my father and one of my mothers cousins taking the dtag net out and they caught so many prawns, i remember them cooking them up and the prawns turning the bright orange colour once cooked. I would have only been between 4 '6 year old at the time and certainly didnt like prawns then. We had a few holidays at the aunties place in Long Jetty and i remembered it rained a lot but the house was interesting and had many beautiful ornaments and knick knacks

        • Duck spring rolls, prawn cutlets, chicken with ginger and lemon grass and special fried rice at the Stuarts Point bowling club, very decent and tasty feed.
Put $20 in a rare pokie machine play and took out $110 so ended up being a very nice and cheap night with a couple of bottles of wine included.

Just glad there wasnt someone saying they manifested the win for us

Lol, I was so tired last night from planning the first family get together this weekend that I didn’t quite get what you meant by pickling a funnel web. I was thinking maybe I was unaware of some sort of spider culinary delicacy or something!

              • Just peeled some very nice medium king prawns and going to have them and some oysters and a glass of bubbles.
Then bream and luderick ( blackfish ) on the BBQ and the last of the left over salad.

                • The prawns we have have been getting better every time, first lot some local Tiger prawns from Daves at Nambucca Heads, good. Second lot local King prawns from Jerseyville co op South West Rocks, good also , a slight notch up on the previous lot but today the medium King Prawns from a hole in the wall place at Stuarts Point were a notch up again, bloody delicious.

                            • Tomato, chilli, garlic and caper pasta, feeling meat free today, using some beautiful tomatoes bought from a local farmers market while we were away, mostly small roma's ( egg tomatoes ) but a mix of a few others.
