Never taken to raw fish or raw meat of any kind - have friends who eat their meat blue

Mrs Salvo's has a love of raw fish - pickled herring or mackerel and iced cold sushi ( Shavings of fish) - Stroganina/Raskolotka - You eat this with shots of Vodka. As Russians would say " Only dogs eat fish without vodka"

        Stroganina/Raskolotka

I love it especially on the boat.

We brain spike and bleed the fish immediately then place it into an ice saltwater slurry for approximately 1 hour to cool the flesh. Fillet, skin and debone the fish. Cut into small pieces and dip into light soy sauce. It feels natural to eat it and it sits nicely in the belly! I prefer it around lunch time more so than at night.

                          • Casual Tonight as Mrs Salvo gave me a chance to cook.

Entrée -Bruschetta with mushrooms & crisp ham

Mains - Bought some T-Bone steaks from the local butcher at a reasonable price and marinated them - Jacket Potatoes , Peas , Beans , Carrots. Corn on the cob and a Mushroom sauce - All fresh and not frozen.

Dessert - Apple pie with custard and ice cream

Sad to say no longer Blue Ribbon Ice Cream as this is now a frozen dessert - changed the recipe which no longer qualifies as an Ice Cream - complained on line and they actually contacted me saying they had a focus group that loved the new flavour - bollocks I said as who would love something that no longer was an ice cream - they rang me again and I said the same thing that they have stuffed up with this new recipe - It's made at a place not that far away at Minto and no way they could not make it using the same recipe.

Offered to send me several 2lt tubs - I said no - I wouldn't eat it even if you paid me - its no longer ice cream - the famous butter milk flavoured ice cream many have loved for decades is no more
