Have to admit the sausage were very ordinary, they sounded to good to be true.

I told the guys at work it's a 'show dish' when they wanted to know what I was going to bake for them.. Display purposes only...
Its a bit like the De Bortoli calendars we get at work, beautiful pics to look at, a bit like food porn, don't think I have made any of the recipes though.

Bought a new TV last week and was going to have delivered this week so I could watch the Roosters on the big big screen tonight but decided to have it delivered next Tuesday when I have time to play with the new gadgets. So glad tonights game wasn't the first thing i watched on the new TV, it would have been like a bad horror movie unfolding.
That aside the risotto was delicious, the only highlight of the night.

Having that weird thing called Turducken tonight for dinner, just the spelling gets me
Woolworths had them on special, I am a bit apprehensive about eating it but if the juices that came out of it which I am using to make the gravy are anything to go by it will be delicious.

Went here before seeing Rock Of Ages in Vegas

                      http://bouchonbistro.com/lasvegas

Had oysters, a cheese plate and the yummiest pate I have ever eaten washed down with a lovely French
Sav Blanc. The oysters were 6 different ones from different regions and all tasted different but all very nice, it was such a lovely relaxed spot away from the madness of the strip that is Las Vegas

It has been nice getting a look at Las Vegas from a locals perspective, have been shown some of the tackier aspects of Vegas but have seen some lovely parts too. Have been taken to Mount Charleston and Red Rock Canyon and today went to the Hoover Dam, tomorrow going to Grand Canyon, the trip starts at 5.30amFriday arvo leave Las Vegas for good and having a few nights in Palm Springs before heading across to LA for a week then heading up the coast to San Fran. What dates are you going ? Hasn't been a day under a 100f yet in Las Vegas and Palm springs is supposed to be worse before LA in the high 80's then San Fran mid 80's to high 70's.

Going to this place for dinner tonight which is supposed to be a Las Vegas institution before another show

Really enjoying this trip so far.

After a the 14 hour round trip visiting the Grand Canyon I just wanted to flake out but the friends I am staying with insisted we went out for dinner and so glad I did in the end

                                http://www.cornishpastyco.com/locations/

I know this is a chain but had the most amazing pasties and sides plus a really good beer and wine list, it had the feel of a little hole in the wall local restaurant/bar, so laid back and really good food, totally unexpected.
