That sounds amazing. I made a rocket salad with prosciutto, olives, camembert, cucumber and celery with lemon and cracked black pepper. I have enough to make another one tomorrow.

Confession ... the salad was from the local Greek restaurant lol . But I cooked the rest . Yours sounds incredible . Even better after a Roosters victory weekend . Enjoy ☺️.

        • I made a few pizzas. Pretty simple toppings but I do my own bases and sauce using garden herbs/veggies where possible. Bit of trivia, I used to be the kitchen hand and then pizza chef at Two Fat Chefs if anybody knew it. The boss was this shifty as greek dude who never paid me (pay day was always like 'WTF are you doing here today?!?!? I didn't roster you on!!! Oooooh here we go... yeah here's $100... whaaaaat you're killing me, $600?!?!? Hey I lost the timesheet but there's no way you did that... oh so I'm to trust your little notebook... look here's $300... FARK OFF!!! I won't call you if you show up like this again on a non-rostered day, I'm trying to work!!! [Immediately goes back to his big cigar + backgammon out front] 'HEY YOU MOVED THE FARKING PIECES!!!! THIS WAS HERE, THAT WAS THERE... YOU'RE TRYING TO CHEAT ME TOO?!?!?')

But yeah... I learned how to do an alright dough, sauce and topping combo while there. I also taught a dude in Japan who now runs a pizza shop in a small town (got drunk and started boasting that I'm Italian so know everything about pizza... made a few and he's like 'YOU GOTTA TEACH ME!!!'). Now when I visit it's hilarious coz I can get a Two Fat Chefs margarita from some random joint (with polite Japanese service rather than some fat Greek dude swearing at me). When COVID's over I'm gonna head there and smash one fo-sho!

You have nothing to confess as you cooked all the hard stuff! I always make my own salads and veggies etc but have excellent shops nearby for cooked chicken, beef and seafood. I've been getting salmon encrusted with pepper to have with a green salad with spinach and snow peas once a week. Good brain food.

went for a walk and got a banana smoothie from kukthai, not sure how they made it, but it was one of the best I have had.

queen street has become a little foodie favourite of mine, found the Lord Dudley Hotel a few streets away, nice to get such a unique pub in the suburbs.
Went to Vics meat yesterday, bought the most devine duck liver and cognac pate, beautiful and rich but light and fluffy at the same time, one of the nicest pates i have ever had. Had lunch again at Plane Tree cafe across the road, had the Rueben sandwich which was nice and also a slice of carrot cake afterwards.
Made a seafood pasta dish that evening, bought fresh green prawns, mussels and scallops then just got a small scoop of the marinara mix which had squid, octopus and salmon in it, made just a basic tomato sauce with onion, garlic, tin tomatoes, oregano and white wine and had fresh fettucini with it, bloody delicious.

Would have been in the Greek Islands right now and would have catching up with friends who would have also been there at the same time so seeing we cant be there now we are catching up with the friends and having a big Greek lunch during the week. Making moussaka and having grilled squid on the BBQ but going to get some yummy nibbles from the local Greek deli in Marrickville including tarima, dolemades and a salad they do which has cous cous and pomegranite in it, got the friends to buy some Mythos beer too.
Tonight though just the two of us are going to our local Greek Restaurant at St Peters called Yiamas for some Greek food, its not so refined but does BBQ meats well.

sounds great horrie, I was at vics on Friday when we drove up from Canberra for the game, got the VC burger which they did really well, pattie was cooked beautifully, wife got the porchetta burger which was good with the crackling.

the pate sounds awesome, must try next time, and I’m a sucker for a good Reuben, so I must remember to get one next time I go.

almost went to lifeboat on the Saturday after your posts about it, but we ended up lying on coogee beach and watching the volleyballers and time just disappeared, before we knew it, it was too late so we ended up at the coogee pavilion for pizzas(which were pretty darn good) and a couple of cocktails.

                  • I saw the porchetta when i went in and it looked disgustingly beautiful, have never thought of getting a burger or roll from there but i have had a burger from the fish markets shop before and it was pretty good. The pate was so decadent , they have so many different ones so it was hard to choose but very happy with the duck and cognac.

Would have been a perfect day for Coogee, i would have done something by the water but had to go to the doctors in the morning , my doctor is at Darlinghurst so ended up walking up to Paddington and Woollahra afterwards. Pizzas look good at the pavillion but everytime i have walked past and had a look in it seems so busy , i often go to the Legion club at Coogee, food is pretty good, club is basic but good drink prices and the view over the beach is good.
I have been trying to get to Lifeboat for a while now but it seems every time i have a weekday off i have something on, prefer the weekdays there because it is more relaxed , if ever going on the weekends i would ring and book.

                            • Lashed out last night & made my wife an I a ham, cheese & tomato toasted sandwich with our new sandwich maker. I’ve moved on from toasters to sandwich makers now.
