Sweet potatoes are so cheap at the moment and delicious, have noticed the price of zucchinis going through the roof but bought a large green zucchini the other day, i wouldn't usually buy one that big, but it lasted two full meals and some left over but the one thing that amazed was it was still full of flavour and what i paid for it was still good value. The one good thing is the price of broccoli coming down, i love broccoli and love it at home but over the last two nights have dined out at two different Vietnamese restaurants and broccoli have been in both of their dishes and in abundance.

I throw broccoli in everything, currys, stews, it is probably my favourite green vegetable, the frozen stuff has been missing at shops for a while now, finally found a few bags on the weekend.I was never a big fan of zucchini, until I started roasting it.

Those zucchini I got on special at Coles lasted me a month without going soggy and I got more delivered on Saturday along with lots of kale, baby spinach and mushrooms (which I can freeze as they sent so many). Going to make something with quinoa pasta and chilli flakes later this afternoon with the above veges, a can of tomatoes and some black olives. Have lots of pantry staples like chickpeas, red kidney beans etc also

We grew up with the Lebanese version of stuffed zucchini with rice and tomato inside. Very good vegetarian dish and comfort food in winter. It works well with any kind of marrow.

I bought some mixed frozen broccoli, beans and peas when fresh broccoli was $20 a kilo but the price has dropped back down again, i love broccoli and love slicing up the stems for a stir fry. Always loved zucchini and often do it on the bbq with lots of other veges.

                • Tomorrow night I'm making pizza for the game on gluten free Lebanese bread with the squeezy sauce, mushrooms, baby spinach, Mersey Valley cheese and olives. Tonight I was going to make salmon but actually feel like lamb chops so will go up and get some later. I haven't cooked red meat all year. Have mash and lots of green veges with lemon and chilli to go with it and gluten free carrot cake for dessert.

                  • BBQ steak sprinkled with French Onion soup mix then wrapped in foil and baked in the oven, having mash with seeded mustard with it and steamed broccoli , beans and carrot. Will probably have a glass of pinot noir with it.

Lamb chops will always do that, i find the fat in lamb chops doesn't sit easy with me that's why i rarely have them. There is a recipe i got from Karen Martini which has lamb chops with potatoes , red capsicum, onion and red wine vinegar, this is usually the only time i eat lamb chops and even using the leanest lamb chops the amount of fat that comes out in the sauce is . Lamb is my least favourite meat although i don't mind lamb shanks and a roasted leg or shoulder.
