Speaking of KFC, i live close to one and i just went out to bring the garbage bins in and with the strong wind blowing i could smell the fatty odour coming from there, it was terrible.
Lol and with that i'm having a take away BBQ chicken for dinner with baked potatoes and beetroot salad, a nice lazy dinner tonight.
This KFC was horrible too, even greasier than normal and that’s saying something. I actually think Red Rooster do a better fried chicken now. I do like RR’s BBQ chooks too though.

I still haven't tried Red Roosters fried chicken yet as there is no Red Rooster close to where i live and also not all Red Rooster do the fried chicken, i do want to try it, the closest ones to my place is in Carlton or Summer Hill which are a bit of a treck but i am determined to try it.
Clems at Newton is my go to local for fried chicken and if the manager is on there always seems to be a few extra pieces in the pack and extra salad.

My daughter has a casual job at RR so when they first brought out the fried chicken she was bringing home freebies for us to try.

          • Well i feel like fried chicken for dinner tomorrow night now but still have almost half a BBQ chicken left over so might have the same tomorrow night or make a chicken pasta with mushrooms, Friday is usually dumplings and noodles night for dinner when i work as i just pick them up from the centre after i finish work but not going to waste this chicken, could have it Saturday night also but better half is trying to shame me into making a tuna cannelloni that night.

Yep that’s the one. We only go there because it’s closer but I really think we should give it the flick from now on. Generally I only buy a fillet burger or wrap when we have KFC but hubby wanted the fried chicken for The Melbourne Cup. I really wish we hadn’t. It was so greasy and a rip off with the cost.

Lol yes. He likes that too. I do love their chips. We should have gone to RR and got the discount from our daughter but he wanted KFC because we don’t do KFC fried chicken very often. But I’ll be reminding him what happened the next time he gets a craving for KFC fried chicken.

I have a KFC about 3-4 minute walk from my place and rarely go there, i sometimes get a twister and of course when i'm there i'm always tempted to get some fried chicken pieces and always regret it when i do. Was over in Randwick about 4 weeks ago and just didn't feel like a cafe meal so went the KFC there, it is the first time in ages i actually enjoyed, i got a three piece feed, all the pieces had meat on them for once and it wasn't overly greasy, the best i have had in years KFC wise.

Twister - that's what I meant when I said wrap lol! Fried chicken should have a nice crisp coating with tender meat, and like you say lots of actual meat. This batch we had, the coating was all soggy and oily (when I first opened it the box and paper bag it came in was covered in oil, the first sign I knew it was going to be bad) and not much meat. The drumsticks were tiny and the wings didn't even look like wings! The breast fillets just oily with soggy crumbs. It's making me ill just remembering it.

It is amazing the size of the drumsticks, they look like they have come off a sparrow., yet you see the KFC ad where G Flip is playing the drums with a drumstick, it looks big and meaty and also no grease on her drum kit from the drumstick lol, talk about false advertising.

It's like those ads for Maccas or KFC burgers - they look nothing like the image you see on the flyer / TV. In reality they are usually just a sliced 'bun' with the ingredients squished in between and you can't see anything but bun.

Thought so. There’s just no alternative though except to drive to Woden. Both are near impossible to get near on Friday or Sat night from 5pm onwards. There’s only 2 on the entire Southside!

                              franchise opportunity for someone maybe?!?

Yep exactly. I’m not sure if Woden is any better though.
