An Australian lady had invented it and used the K-mart pie maker which is the most popular one. You just mix a vanilla cake mix with 300ml of lemonade and put it in the pie maker (I bought the 6 size one but you can get 4 or a family size one if you want to actually make pies ) and it turns out little cakes which you just then sandwich together with the frosting (I put strawberries and blackberries in mine as I like to be healthy ) and you can dust them with icing sugar ( I skip that part as they are very sweet as it is). I just used the Coles gluten free vanilla cake mix with the lemonade (which I don't normally drink, so I've kept the rest of the bottle for the next recipe) and it turned out these lovely little vanilla cakes. I've bought the White Wings chocolate gluten free mix to do for work on Monday and I'll take along some strawberries to go with it. I also bought the Donna Hay apple and cinnamon crumble mix as I mentioned before to try another time. It's Coeliac Awareness week so most supermarkets have a lot of gluten free products on special for 2 weeks every year in March, so this is when I stock up the pantry. This is my first time trying cakes though as I only bought the pie maker last month. I prefer the savoury dishes like the fritters or frittata myself.

This article has a great photo of the original snow cakes:

From one of my comedies from last week.

Little old lady: "Never mind dear. Some girls like them on a man".

                    • Made chicken schnitzels last night with mash potato, corn on the cob, steamed carrot, zucchini and broccoli, made extra schnitzels for tonights dinner and doing a pasta with some of the harvested tomatoes today done in olive oil ,garlic and basil and going to crumble some feta in, so really a no names combo tonight but so much nicer.

                        • Without realising it, I ate a lot of green food for St Paddy's day yesterday. Avocado on toast with kale and spinach juice in a Roosters champagne glass, zucchini and broccolini pasta for lunch, pea and zucchini fritters, baby cucumbers, a pear and a spinach and ricotta roll.

                          • We went to a wedding on the harbour (cruise) last night. Surprisingly awesome as for some reason I always see cruises as being a little bit impractical. This one worked just fine though, glad we went!

                            Food was good...

                            - Started with a selection of champaign, shiraz and craft beers served with plenty of sushi, calamari and satay skewers (I made full usage of the bar).

                            - Entree was beef ravioli... IMO it was the best dish.

                            - Main course was a massive piece of slow-cooked beef cheek. To me is was a bit too chewy (and MASSIVE) but it went down alright (and I was more focussed on the free drinks than anything else.

                            - Wedding cake was a solid red velvet.

Excellent harbour views the whole time and it had just the right balance of fun / ceremony. I give it a 10/10... happy marriage to the two.

Glad you had such a lovely evening.

Also, how do you post photos on here again? I don't seem to have the right permissions but I wanted to show a photo of yesterday's baking. I'm taking them into the office so just booked a car as there is no way I can manage walking up the hill in the rain with the laptop etc..plus my precious Roosters picnic bag..
