Colesworth are definitely ripping us off. They are both very much taking advantage of inflation and fuel prices to extort extra profit from consumers. Some of the price increases in groceries have been well above the current inflation rate of 7.8%. And if they can’t find a way to increase the price they get you by reducing the size of the product. Smaller boxes, less grams etc. It’s disgraceful.

$6.99 for a roast chicken at Costco but you have to order 20 to get it at that price

Costco is good if you buy in bulk, the friends i'm house sitting for at the moment ( they actually got back today ) buy up in bulk in there but because there is only two of them they are more often than not giving excess away or throwing out stuff that can't be frozen so really it costs them more more times than not.

Pretty sure they were in the warmer today for under $7. No indication on minimum purchase numbers.

Either way, they are sooo much better value than the pigeons they try to rip you off with at Colesworth.

                  • Baked chicken thighs with baked potato, sweet potato, carrot, steamed broccoli and peas with a lemon and white wine gravy.

Had duck salami, smoked cheese and caper berries for nibbles before it.

                    • Lamb shanks with onions, carrots and mashed potatoes. Having discussed it on here last week and the weather being cooler I just had to cook it.

                      • Gonna do a barbie...

                        - Chilli con carne in the middle

                        - Chicken bits on the side

                        - Corn cobs with mayo and sour cream cookin' away

Got myself a smoker box so hopefully that will add a bit of excitement to it all.

Craft beer in one hand and an imaginary Dannemann in the other. All slow cooked goodies so I'm just gonna sit back and watch some anime in the mancave (on a broadcast grade CRT TV, of course).

                        • Seeing there is no BBQ tonight because of the weather, having the left over chicken from last nigjt, have some left over sweet potato to so bought a small potato bake and pumpkin from the chicken shop at Narrabeen to compliment the meal. Hoping the weather is a bit better for a BBQ tomorrow.

                          • BBQ tonight, curry lamb sausages, goat chump chops, asparagus, mushroom with fetta, tomato and potato on the bbq and a green salad on the side.
Nibbles before hand of olives, sundries tomato and olives, smoked cheese, hummus and crackers.

                            • Not sure what I enjoyed more with the BBQ tonight, because i cooked the BBQ earlier and then kept it warm in a fry pan on a very low heat till we were ready to eat it, the flavour of the curried lamb sausages went through the potatoes which made them taste like a curried chip, sensational, asparagus took on the flavour of just about everything without losing its asparagus zing, another A+, everything was great but the winner was the goat chump chops, did not lose their integrity after being cooked perfectly on the bbq then kept warm till being eaten, Honestly if i can access goat chops like that I would never touch a lamb chop again, so tasty and so much less fatty.
