It was actually red and also white meat we couldn't eat, anything off the land. It was only seafood or anything that came from the water.

Happy Good Friday chookpenners . Not overly religious but have stuck to a seafood theme today :-). Crumbed fresh calamari and chips for lunch , with a home made tartare sauce , (was the hero ). For tea it was oysters kilpatrick and oysters mornay , followed by coral trout baked in foil with butter and sliced lemon . Not bad if I do say so myself . It helped me forget about getting done by the drizzle last night . .Rads deserved a penalty but not the bin . That cost us 12 points . I would be delighted if Klown never refereed us again !

Woke up this morning with the idea of making a prawn and mussel pasta with fresh linguine but went to the Orange Grove Markets and thought see what there before i decide, seeing it was cooler on the way to the market i thought risotto and when i saw some nice asparagus i thought risotto with asparagus and chicken sausage but once i got to one of the butcher guys there he had sold out of all sausages completely, i still thought risotto still as i had some chicken sausage in the freezer but went to one of the Lebanese stalls there to get some dolmades and saw they had some nice looking cabbage rolls and stuffed zucchini so bought those with some tabouli and spiced cauliflower and picked up some lamb kofta from the other meat place there ( who also had one lot of chicken and cheddar and jalapeno sausage left ). bought both and might make the risotto later in the week or freeze the sausages for risotto later but having a Middle Eastern feast tonight now with the koftas and the cabbage rolls and stuffed zucchini, also bought some ouzo and lemon flavoured olives.

Last night I did one of my goto dishes for the in-laws using the BBQ. It included...
- Smoky chicken bits
- Chilli con carne (we were outta spice mix so I did my own thing)
- Herb bread
- Corn & broccolini
It was my mother in-law's birthday so my wife baked her an awesome salted caramel cake.

Now the pressure is on me tomorrow night to make tuna cannelloni

Gonna do pizzas for the in-laws this weekend. Any suggestions? I'm thinking along the lines of...
- Margherita
- Smoked chicken and pesto
- Pancetta and zucchini
- Roast pumpkin and fetta
- A mixture of salamis from the deli
Make a solid batch of dough, cook 'em all up on the barbie 1 after the other and I reckon we should be pretty sweet.

I love artichoke on a pizza, place i go at Newtown have a four seasons where you pick what four toppings you want, i go for Italian sausage, artichoke, zucchini and mushroom.
You could try prawn and calamari also.
