We are all now Cronulla fans anyway apparently..that's what happens when there is a bye..here is another Little River Band classic and one of my favourites, Night Owl (which I am not, I like sleeping )
Stumbled upon this gem last evening....the Whitlams have gone country! Tim Freedman has teamed up with some great musos incl one of our very best guitarists Rod McCormack. Doing a quick fire regional tour and cut an album (I think..).
This is the single....bear with me, it contains images that may offend.. South Sydney stuff. But the song and film clip is so good it's worth it. Old imagery of Sydney town is brilliant. Take me back.
Written by Perry Keyes whose music I have fallen in love with. Aussie talent plus. Will post some of his here later.
Thanks again Jack and I've sent that to my cousin who follows Souths. It was his mum who was my 100 year old auntie who passed away earlier this year, Mum and my other auntie worked in factories around Redfern and they would take a short cut across the oval to get to work every day they said. They were allowed to buy the old industrial machines and one of them was for leather as my auntie worked in the shoe factory and Mum made shirts and pjs for men. Such a lot of Sydney history in that clip as we used to travel on that train line in my school holidays to come to Circular Quay from my grandmother's in the inner west so we could go to Manly on the ferry or get off at St James and go to DJ's or up to Woolies at Town Hall to go to the cafeteria..now I want chips and gravy...
This one is a funny one from The Whitlams: Thank You For Loving Me At My Worst

I'm pleased you got something from those images (backed by the music of course) RWB. That's a big part of the song itself I think. Good song you sent there, my favourite of theirs is Keep The Light On. I'm sure I've got a free CD somewhere with a handful of songs when TF recorded with the Sydney Sympathy Orchestra, will keep looking.
I was 10 when this was released Horrie but I loved William Shakespeare at that stage. Young and impressionable. Remember My Little Angel too.
He was almost lead singer for ACDC, and main host of Countdown. Fun facts...I'm kinda glad though that Bon and Molly landed the respective gigs. Sorry Will...he had a pretty sad end to his later life.

Some wonderful images in the clip Jack and great song. Funny about a month ago i was going through the CD collection and on the bottom shelf of one of cabinets was a lot of the free CD give away's from the papers, The Whitlams with the Sydney Symphony was one of them.

Yes John (William ) had a pretty sad end to his later life. Cant Stop Myself From Loving You played at work today and i also have My Little Angel on the IPOD, i always turn up My Little Angel, there is something so sweet and uplifting about that song.

That's the one! I remember you said you had it too and I had been there for that concert at the Opera House. I saw them again when they performed with the SSO again after the Glenn Frey performance in 2013. Think that was August 2015. I have all their CD's from that time and will do a playlist for you anyway. This is that lovely song from their Little Cloud album which I have:

LOL Eddie..I was always the designated driver back home in the country as I didn't drink. I used to drive my friends home to all their farms on the outskirts of town and that cassette in my car got me through it. This one was filmed in the eastern suburbs, Oxford Street. Jimmy and the band just went around filming as they walked. Many of the people in the clip have passed away now and a few of the surviving participants reached out to Jimmy Barnes to thank the band for making this video as they said that's the only footage and memories of their friends and loved ones they have..
Poor quality recording but a fabulous song from a power house voice of the 70's i will also include a better sounding recording. A great song which i'm proud to have on my IPOD.
