I used to spend a bit of time @ Byron, Ballina and Lennox in the 70's -80's. went to Lennox last year n drove into Bongon bay. Byron has become an over-hyped over priced gymps paradise.

It's a damn shame cos Byron is a beautiful spot ruined by commercialism.

      Much like my native Bondi.

Love the Tweeeeeeed but I gave Byron a miss when I went up there last April except to walk around from Wategos beach up to the light house which is a beautiful walking trail.

Same as you guys, I used to love Byron, but it is now pricey, over-hyped and full of merkins now. Which is why I prefer Lennox Head and the hinterland...

While I still think fondly of Bondi when I go back for a visit I realise it's nothing like where I grew up.

As you say, that's life, inevitable unfortunately with the way things go.

The Tweed is as close to Bondi in the 70s and 80s as I reckon I can get.

You can't even drive thru Byron mid week now without a traffic jam. It's like Bondi Road.

So many nice places between here and Poocastle prime for a holiday. Awesome part of the world.

I want to do the Great Ocean Road drive one day.

Yeh been there wasn't bad @ all, weather was miserable.. If you haven't done it get over to coral bay in WA, White sand, top little bar[full of horny backpackers], very layed back, warm water, coral reef literally 5m off shore.. very mediteranian climate.. Top Spot!

Good stuff Backwards and Turk...I love to go to WA and go from Albany and go all the way up to somewhere like Broom and see Margaret River and the wine country, Freo, Perth, Kalbarri, Coral Bay up to Broome one day.

Also Backwards the Great Ocean Road is as the name suggests Great....just be prepared for a much cooler climate if you go between late March and November.

On another note fellas, Happy Mothers Day to your wives and mothers respectively......

I like to hang out on the Chookpen or spend time visiting my friend Oracle at the mental asylum.

I always enjoy having a break up the north coast, usually have a few days and stay at place called Grassy Head hideaway at Grassy Head[ just north of Kempsey],just get some stuff for the bbq, fresh seafood and chill out at the beach there or lay by the pool and then after that head back an hour south to Port Macquarie for a week and basically do the same thing except eat out a lot more in Port and visit the local wineries.
