    LOL,get with it Mangi...
Joe Jackson is best known for the 1979 hit song "Is She Really Going Out with Him?"...and that was long before Lisa Marie married Michael...

Oh thank God, the Joe Jackson I was referring to is a greedy, scary-looking troll!

I saw Joe Jackson at the State Theatre as well, and Deborah Conway was the support act. As you say, fantastic atmosphere and both put on terrific performances.

Like most of us "oldies" I've seen the usual suspects:

        Elton John
        Billy Joel
        John Farnam
        Jimmy Barnes
        Radiators
        Sunnyboys
        Noiseworks
        Renee Geyer
        Wendy Matthews
        Marcia Hines
        Ian Moss
        Jon English
And many more I can't think of at the moment.

I will also admit to going to see Spandau Ballet in the very early 80s And I still have the gold coloured albumn they had around that time. And OK, I will admit I still play it occasionally, espec after a few vinos.

The State theatre is a great venue,it is so intimate ,i saw both Olivia Newton John and Cyndi Lauper there and was in the second row for both concerts, both were brilliant,Olivia had you eating out of the palm of her hand from the second she walked out on stage and Cyndi Lauper was full of so much energy, she was jumping up on the speakers, walking along chairs in the audience and even sitting in their laps while singing.
Seeing Chrissy Amphlett,Diesel and the Baby Animals there in January also.

Another performer i remember seeing now was Bette Midler at Acer arena, she is a legend.

Yes, we saw Bette Midler at Acer as well, she was very good. I saw Hugh Jackman in The Boy from Oz, am I correct in thinking that was at Acer as well? He was ok.

I agree about the State Theatre, I always go past there to see what's on when I'm in the vicinity. I saw Pam Stephenson there as well, she is one funny bitch!!

Nothing wrong with liking Spandau Ballet novice chook,Gold and True are absolute classic songs.
Now for something real embarrassing,i had Xanadu blasting out of the car driving back from the beach today

You mentioned the Sunnyboys also,i'm almost certain one of the guys from the Sunnyboys owns Wedgetail Pizza at Newtown.

Not sure whether The Boy from Oz with Hugh Jackman was at Acer,i suspect it was at the Entertainment centre but not sure.I saw the original Boy From Oz which had Todd McKenney at His Majestys Theatre,Todd was fantastic as Peter Allen,Chrissie Amphlette was great as Judy Garland also.

i like their music and i love their voices..my criteria, minus a few artists, demands for them to have exceptional vocal talent, i.e great range, the ability to belt, tone colour, the ability to sing crazy melismas and vocal runs, trills etc.

My top one so far was Duran Duran.

I can't wait to see Ac/dc when that guitar hits I aim to be front and center.

Yes. When those tickets are due to go on sale... IF EVER!!!... I will wait at that Ticketek box office for days and days and days.

                              I have seen...

Roc Tha Block (Nitty, Case, 112, Chingy and Ja Rule) 0 2005
                              Boyz II Men - 2005
                              112 - 2005
Boyz II Men and K-Ci and JoJo - 2007
                              Christina Aguilera - 2007
                              Joe - 2007
                              Jet - 2009

As you can see from my list, Jet isn't exactly my music, but they were really good. It was my first rock concert.
